Being a sophomore happened, I think. Picked a bad game to regress.

coach needs to ban 3 pt attempts right now. that's the worst shot you can take in this game.

(throws more dishes) just refusing to go after the ball right now. and I can't blame them.

the officiating this year is definitely going to favor strong inside teams like UMass. But boy, is this hard to watch. Our kids look terrified to even move their hands on D right now.

so the guy gets run over and no whistle. either a block or a charge there ref. sheesh.

I"ve been okay with the rule changes, but this second half is pretty unwatchable. Unfair to the kids, too. Literally a foul every single defensive possession is a bit much to overcome.

refs pretty much blowing the whistle for sport now.

The inside weaknesses are going to be a plague all year long. Not sure what we can really do about it. We're pretty helpless in the paint.

give umass credit. they don't have a lot of tricks but the one they do have they do very, very well.

they're more athletic, and more experienced with each other and in general. I don't think they're as skilled as I expected them to be. They remind me a lot of that Rhode Island team from two years ago--obviously better. But good athletes who sometimes don't always know what to do with the round thing. It's a decent yin-yang matchup so far. I've been thinking of these guys as sort of a poor man's Minnesota. That might be a little generous, though. Another club they remind me of is the vintage LSU teams under Dale Brown. That's probably a much better comparison than RI

we're only down 4 and we've played pretty poorly. so I guess that's the good news. need some better shots and more makes. i think I picked the wrong week to stop sniffing glue.
