  1. Man all those roster and lineup projections for nothing ???
  2. Replace Yvan with Blanton
  3. I dont have minutes attached, but i also essentially have Roby as the backup center and playing a decent amount of minutes at the 5. I dont see Kavas holding up defensively in the Big Ten. He's someone who i could regularly see picking up two fouls in the first couple minutes of a game. So i like him coming off the bench. When he comes off the bench I see him taking Jayce Johnsons place as opposed to Roby. Hoiberg will have Mack and Burke as serviceable shooters that defenses will atleast have to respect. With that being said, Cheatham or Burke was a tossup for me. All this is speculation at this point.
  4. How about: PG C. Mack --> A. Harris SG J. Green --> H. Cheatham --> K. Davis G D. Burke --> H. Cheatham --> T. Thorbjarnarson F I. Roby --> M. Kavas C J. Johnson --> B. Heiman Snag Yvan Ouedraogo and RS him with Akol Arop. Thoughts?
  5. Horne was a pretty good shooter. I dont think Cross is one at this point.
  6. I think theres a better chance Roby comes back under Hoiberg than there would have been if Miles was retained. On the court both teams might have similar records (edge to the team that Hoiberg is putting together tho). But the development and knowledge Roby can gain under Fred is huge. He and his family are smart enough to understand that. Now none of this matters if hes getting consistent first round grades. But i like our chances at like 30% ish.
  7. Cam'ron Jones also announced he was transferring last week. Was a RFr Safety who i thought i had heard positive things about.
  8. So maybe he takes the place of one of the 2-3 RS transfers this staff likes to have.
  9. Have read that he's considering the JUCO route for next year.
  10. No way we hit 100 more than a couple. Id be shocked. Kavas is the only elite shooter we currently have that has played a single minute of D1 basketball. Cheatham is good. Jervay should be good. Burke and Mac are average outside shooters. Thor Amir and Brady arent good shooters. KD is a mystery. Now hopefully with a little coaching from Hoiberg they can all take a step forward.
  11. Kuzma played for Utah and was a teammate of Jayce Johnson
  12. Wonder if they want both Cross and Ouedraogo or if its a one or the other type deal?
  13. Its gonna be mighty hard to fill up an entire roster if Thor/Heiman/KD all move on. We would fill in those last couple spots with some reaches talent wise (which is what many think the three aforementioned are). So why not let them stay? If it doesn't work out they can move on next year. However, we are definitely on the verge of having an almost entirely eligible roster which isnt typically how Hoiberg manages a roster. Itll be interesting to see how it all shakes out.
  14. Lol i may or may not have that information available. But ill save it for later.
  15. I dont mind playing this game. Even though itll change 100x before next season tips off. STARTERS Cam Mack 6'2 So G Jervay Green 6'3 Jr G Dachon Burke 6'4 Jr G Isaiah Roby 6'8 Sr F Jayce Johnson 7'0 Sr C BENCH (In order) Amir Harris 6'6 So G Haanif Cheatham 6'5 Sr G Matej Kavas 6'8 Sr G/F Brady Heiman 6'11 So F Thorir Thorbjarnarson 6'6 Jr G Karrington Davis 6'6 RFr G REDSHIRT Dalano Blanton 6'8 So F Akol Arop 6'6 Fr F
  16. I posted this in a different thread about 15 min ago, but dont you think Arop is a great RS candidate? Hoiberg loves alot of things about him and acknowledged that his shot from deep is there (but still needs work). I feel like Hoiberg would love for him to get a whole year under his belt just working on his shot and strength.
  17. I wonder if we will be recruiting many more big men like Jayce Johnson. Seems like we will see more Roby/Copeland like front courts in the future. But I also think Hoiberg is smart enough to know the value of versatile 7'0 250lbs centers. The only problem is they are so rare. He will snag em when he can. But i dont think we use to many scholarships on traditional C body types.
  18. Thats probably a fair comparison. He's not a highly skilled offensive player but wants a bigger role offensively. Those 3 ppg might not be big to us but could be a big deal to him. Just a thought I was floating around.
  19. Oregon, Arizona St, and Washington all made it. And all three won atleast 1 tourney game.
  20. 3 other times he was at 9 points tho. So nearly 6 double-doubles in his last 12 playing only 21.7 min a game. Up his minutes by 5-8 a game and he could flirt with a double-double average.
  21. Anyone know Hoibergs track record of RS immediately eligible players? We all know he likes to have 2-3 ppl redshirting per season. The reason i ask this because I think Arop is a perfect RS candidate. He has the size, length, and athleticism that Hoiberg loves. Hoiberg has also said that he thinks Arop has a good foundation for his 3pt shot. Now this is just speculation, but i bet Hoiberg would love for Arop to spend a whole year on his shot and getting stronger. Not worrying about game planning and scouting reports. Not counting possible future attrition, say we snag Johnson, Mack, and the WKU kid. That gives us 12 eligible players. Throw Arop in as RS and we are closer to the number Hoiberg likes to play with.
  22. Do you know anything about Utah basketball, bc my next question is why was he playing 20ish min a game? Foul trouble? Conditioning? Sharing minutes with other players? If he is capable of taking on a heavier load of minutes, you could kinda twist that into a heavier offensive load. 20 min 7pts 8reb at Utah. Come here and play 25-30 min and average a double-double.
  23. 90% sure i read that somewhere about him. Could be wrong. Been reading lots of stuff about lots ppl with all these offers going out lol. But i think it was him.
  24. My only concern with getting him is I believe he is looking for a heavier work load on offense. Not so sure he would find that here. Hard to tell with how up in the air our roster is. But Hoiberg said he wants his bigs to be able to run, defend, and rebound. Doesnt sound like they will be the focal point.
  25. I would argue that would make it even more fun to do. Its not a very a fun thread when the all the pieces are solidified.
