  1. Very well put. Everything you brought up is very much the case IMO. One of the best posts you have ever made.
  2. I don't agree with him but why can't he start a thread if he wants? Possibly because it is directly related to the game that just ended and the post was a direct refleciton of result of such game. Do you think it is necessary to start a thread that "WE SUCK". I know you don't and I know you understand the logic behind dimes post.
  3. Extremely frustrating. Lose another game that we shouldn't lose. Going to be tough to dance this year, but it is still possible. Lets try to stay positive. Worst comes to worst, we are capable of winning the big ten tourney. There is no team we cannot beat that we play. Obviously we have to get way better. And I do think that his right hand man leaving is hurting us. Didn't realize how important he was. In any event the future is bright. We have more horses coming. Lets remember that we overachieved last year. As fun as it was, it doesn't affect this year very much. Same crew for the most part. Hang in there guys. Lets not make this super negative. Does nobody any good. We will get some that are unexpected later.
  4. Very unfortunate that two games in a row our opponent played really well in relation to their respective talent level. And very unfortunate that it was enough to pay for mediocre to very poor play by us. Will also be unfortuante when the selection people see these later in the year. They don't go back and watch the game. They just see what will end up being one really bad loss and another pretty bad one. Frustrating that we have been unable to close out any close games this year so far. That has to change immediately. We figure to be in a lot of close games the rest of the way. If we don't get at least our share of them, we are looking at NIT at best. We might need well over our fair share the rest of the way actually. Not sure yet.
  5. with all due respect... I really don't see that nor do I think UNLs season stats back that up. NU was ready, they were in their house, they have a size and speed advantage. Their fundamentals looked poor and there wasnt a ton of help coming off the bench or from the staff. With a victory over OU and Nebraska combined with a neutral and road loss there is no way Vegas gives NU that respect. Creighton was far smarter on the court and much more efficient. I will take Vegas all day, everyday over Creighton guy posting on a Husker Message board for some reason. Vegas numbers tell the story. It is my background, and I know it to be true. Not debateable. Vegas deals in hypothetical bets? I'd like to see that line. Sounds debatable to me. If you think if they played again and Creighton would be favored in the same situation, you need to have your head examined. At least I know I don't need to take any of your posts seriously ever again if you are that stupid. Not that I needed to take them seriously in the first place since you are a Nebraska hating Creighton troll.

  7. Better team did not win tonight. We play again we would be favored substantially again. One of those deals where things happen in one game sample sizes involving a round ball going through a round rim. Give credit to Creighton though. They played a hell of a game.
  8. Norm nailed it. Frustrating obviously. We are better than they are and we played like crap and they played well. At the end of the season we will be in much better shape than Creighton. But the fact of the matter is we now have to win a game somewhere we aren't supposed to. This is a bad loss. It happens when shooting is involved. Especially when we are in a shooting slump. Lets not overreact though. We will eat crow from the non Jaysker fans for another year. It is part of the deal. Once again, they took the game far more seriously than we did. We got outplayed which is surprising, and we got outcoached which is also surprising. We gotta buckle up and turn it around quickly, or the dance will not be in the cards.
  9. No chance that is a line that can be bet anywhere near gametime. Opened at 7 where you can actually bet, and will only rise from there.
  10. I hardly think the nation is "shocked.". I don't think the nation gives a rats ass about Creighton basketball if the horrific ratings the dumpster fire version of the Big East got last year on FS1 can be used as a guide. This was with a guy regarded as the best in the nation(even though he wasn't). The nation doesn't know or care that the Jays have some replacement three point shooters. Are you okay?Yeah why wouldn't I be? Are you? You are the guy that is a Creighton fan posting on the Nebraska message board. So obviously you have a few screws loose. And acting like the nation is shocked about Creighton's three point shooting is insane. So you are the one people should be concerned about being okay.Oh, okay. Yeah man I'm fine. This has been a much better than expected start for the Creighton basketball program. And for the Big East too! With Nova's wins against VCU and Michigan, Providence going 2-0 against ACC teams, and Butler's upset of UNC last night I think the conference has made a lot of the media types think about how quickly they dug a grave for the league last season. Because the tone of almost every single one of your posts addressed to me comes off as incredibly adversarial and toxic, I just wanted to make sure there was no bad blood between usSmall sample size of early season games. Good start nonetheless though. It will inflate the Big East RPI all year. But when push comes to shove come the important time of the year, the same things will likely happen. They won't be able to match up with the big boys. Even the 2nd best in the Big East got destroyed when it matterd by high mid pack Big 12 school. Since the conference has little credibility, I would be rooting like hell for it in these early season affairs if I were you as well. So then you can say, wow look at our conference RPI. It is so good. Smart people don't fall for that garbage. I know what is what. I rely on Vegas numbers. And the conference, while off to a good start is not an elite league. I love that Creighton is rated. While one of the most absurd things I have ever seen in any ranking, it will look good when Nebraska gets them pretty easily. Vegas knows whats up. We will be heavily favored and will win the game easily.interesting perspective. What is interesting? The fact I said their rating was one of the most absurd ratings ever? The fact that we will be heavily favored? The fact that we will win easily? The fact that the Big East will not be as good as the RPI suggests? The fact that Vegas is smarter than Creighton trolls? Curious what a Creighton troll thinks is interesting. What I find interesting is that we even play you. Nothing but downside. Been that way for years. Found it incredibly humorous reading your garbage board on why you all don't want to play UNO. No upside, all downside as they will take that game so seriously etc. Well that is how it has been for Nebraska Creighton. Creighton has taken this game more seriously for years, as they don't play in a power league. Not sure why Creighton fans think we should play them, when they don't think they should play UNO. Extremely hypocyrical. And they were wise not to play UNO this year. It very well may not have ended well.
  11. At some point we need to get to the point that a redshirt is a vary rare exception. Maybe Miles thinks that time is now.
  12. Good call on Benny. I was one that wouldn't have minded if he transferred. I am sure glad I was wrong. Tough minded kid. I don't think we danced last year without him.
  13. RI is not a real good team. They have the type of team that will perform better at home as they need high energy as they are not a very good shooting oufit. They had a nice crowd and they helped them immensly in that one. Made a bad play seemingly every time we had a shot to separate. Was disappointing to say the least.
  14. We just simply aren't much better than last year. It is the same guys for the most part. The improvements you hope they make in the offseason is likely to be offset somewhat by a much tougher schedule, especially in league play. Makes these non conference games very important. I do think we will know how to win close games a little more, even though it did not show itself at RI. Said all along, that my goal is to just make the tourney again. I don't think we really are a top 25 team and while I hope I am wrong, I am not sure we will ever be there again this year. Pitchford needs to find his stroke or there is very little chance IMO. The good news is the future looks like it has staying power. That is really the important thing.

  16. Would be almost impossible not to have a better career.

  19. I saw of handful of stuff like that last year when we were getting the media love about our run. Looks like the chip on the shoulder is still Mid-Major level. It should be since they still are not in a power conference. Not fond of the term mid major as there are all kinds of conferences lumped into that. But one could certainly put the new Big East in that mid major category as a high end version of it. Especially if Mountain West, A-ten etc are considered to be mid major.
  20. Yeah it is what Dimes said. It is designed to give what he believes is a more accurate representation in the early going until the data has enough to sort itself out. It is probably personal preference, but I like this more than something like the RPI which is strictly numbers driven early on. I think he uses last year a significant amount as the starting point. Obviously it isn't perfect, but the only thing that really can be trusted at all at this point would be Vegas power rankings and they are not terribly accurate either at this point and they commonly get destroyed by sharps this time of year.
  21. It all comes down to draft projection...if he's not projected to go high enough he'll come back for another year. But how much does he gain from coming back another year. Lets say he is going to be a late 2nd rounder coming off of 2015. Given his age and skill sets, does one actually believe anything he did in 2015/16 would move him that high up the draft boards? I don't. I just don't see his draft value increasing by coming back for his Senior season. So, even though he may not be drafted very high out of this year, it would make sense for him to leave with degree in hand so he can start making money professionally. Upperclassmen can and have moved up draft spots from season to season. With underclassmen, a scout will look at tape and spot a few plays that stick out and show their potential. But upperclassmen have to show tangible improvement to their game through the course of a season in order to work their way up draft boards. Good example would be Doug, who a lot of people thought would have been better off declaring for the draft after his junior season. He added fadeaways, some perimeter game and more dribble drive to his arsenal while still being effective and scouts moved him up from a late first round pick at the start of the year to solidly mid lottery before draft workouts began. If Terran still has room to improve his game (he does), and he has the benefit of playing in a high exposure conference like the B1G, then there's no reason to believe he can't improve his draft stock. At the end of the day, it's about how good a basketball player you project to be at the next level. If he elevates his game then scouts will have to take notice Doug was never a mid lottery pick. His defense is so horrific, there was never a chance of that.
  22. Many reasons this is my favorite message board I have ever seen, let alone be a part of. 1. Information. Any breaking Husker Hoops news is going to be here instantly so I use this to gather it. 2. Generally awesome people. You can just tell that most guys are the types it would be a pleasure to have a beer with. I have had the pleasure to meet a few at a gathering and it was as expected. 3. Very clever, witty and funny guys. Several different types of humor, and most of them work and genuinely amuse me. 4. There are a lot of guys like me here that for some reason are extremely passionate about Husker Hoops. Guys that were mentally and physically exhausted after that Wisconsin game. Guys that could hardly drink a beer after the game they were so spent. 5. Several guys that are very sharp basketball minds. And just as important, there generally are not guys that try to act like they are great basketball minds when they aren't for the most part. That is what often happens at most forums and it simply ruins it. Furthermore, different guys bring different interesting aspects of knowledge.
  23. I could personally give a rats ass who he roots for in a football game. I am not sure why anyone else would care either. However, it does tell me a lot about him as a human being, when he tweets that picture of the douchebag Gibbs jumping on Petteway. He knows damn well who started that, and it is pretty dumb to post it. Almost as dumb as his dad tweeting that garbage right after it happened.
  24. Immense really freaky upside here. Cannot wait to watch the havoc he will cause on the defensive end. Could be a little AK47 like in that way(when he used to be healthy), blocking shots, stealing balls etc. Tough to account for that kind of length.
  25. Rough start, and my concern is they have been fragile when things head south at times. Was hoping to just front run the entire thing. Gotta get one tomorrow. Thank goodness we have Miles. Notice this verbal after game and all is okay again. This kid has MASSIVE upside. The kind of player that can create serious havoc on defense.
