I saw this referenced earlier and it has been on my mind since the season started. Knowing that we lack post presence, but have relatively good depth at other positions, why do we continue to focus on running half court offense? With this roster, it would seem to be a good option to run more and press on defense instead of standing around in the half court.

Would love some thoughts on this from those more educated than myself.

Takes from the game...

***I know this is just wrong, but Iowa may have the weirdest looking dudes I've ever seen on one basketball team.

- Morrow needs to be fed the ball more

- I'm just waiting for the game where is just clicks for Watson. I have a feeling it will be this year.  When it does look out!

- One of the biggest things I've noticed this game was towards the very end.  Shields was driving and made the extra pass which I've been dying to see him do!  Jacobson was just getting ready for the board when it came his way.  That is a bad sign.  Shields has been too selfish at the end of games so other players aren't ready for the pass, and just trying to get in position for the board.

- I don't care about Tai's numbers tonight, his decision making leaves me scratching my head.  He came down on a fast break in the second half and had a wide open Morrow in the post and he pulled back and then drove in.  He made the "Contested" basket, but I was sooooo pissed that he didn't make the pass to Morrow.

- White had an off game, and it came at the wrong time

- Shields went 0-4 from the line <- CAN'T HAPPEN!!!

- McVeigh is going to be good! He missed some open 3's tonight, but what he does with the ball is pretty good for a guy who is 6'8

- Nothing I have seen out of Jacobson leads me to believe he deserves more minutes than Morrow.  He deserves to play some minutes, I'm just not sure he deserves as much as he is getting.  Also why the hell not Play them at the same time?  Morrow at the 4 and Jacobson at the 5?

- Shoot me if you want, but I just don't like Parker getting the minutes he is getting.  Points or no points he is not that good guys.

- We have 3 Freshman and a Sophomore playing the post positions for us, not going to flip if we don't do great this year.  I want to see at least a couple of wins though, I just can't take this much of Nebraska Men's sports sucking.  It's not good on the heart

- Last thing If you can't make a shot in 12 attempts you aren't going to win many games

so you want to take Benny out, or give him less minutes in the middle of a hot streak the last 3-4 games! cmon!

Disagree about Parker and his minutes. For an offensively challenged team... Why would we take someone who is actually confident and making shots out of the game?

I agree with the previous post that Parker is getting to many minutes.  He is offensively challenged as well as can't finish if he does happen to drive.  He doesn't have very good court vision in finding the open shooters and is a liability on defense when they set a pick and we switch.  Benny has a role on this team but should only be playing about 15 minutes a game.

He's been producing the last 4 games though. In almost all offensive categories for conference play thus far he's either as good or significantly better than Glynn Watson.

How in the heck did Shavon go 0-4 on FTs?!? I can understand Hammond doing that, but not steady Shields when he's typically been a 78% FT shooter. Just a sign of the team not 'getting it done' I suppose in all facets. But, really, what is the deal with all the 'clangs' and 'clanks' instead of a soft touch and roll over the rim or a bounce to the glass and back in... ((ughh))

Yeah, we should be for sure.  Miles doesn't understand that type of game.  And Molinari sure as hell doesn't.  It is painfully obvious that Smith was doing much of the coaching.  Miles is not coaching well without him, and not making good hires either.  Molinari certainly not getting it done.  It is a very frustrating realization that Smith was such a key to this whole thing.
