Kind of got the feeling it would be Indiana or ISU.

I had some hope but once we went after Paschal as heavy as we did, i figured we saw the writing on the walls

Bummer for short term but possibly better for long term.

I think almost the exact opposite of this.  I think we were waiting on getting a feel for Paschal, and if we have a good shot at landing him.

I don't think it is a coincident that Max B. committed to Indiana the "Night" Paschal was in Lincoln all "Day".

I think Miles knows more on the Paschal situation and informed Max that the scholarship was no longer available

I really, really hope you are 100% right on this!

We'll probably never know, but in any case I think Iowa State was Max's preferred school. Otherwise, why delay to learn Hoiberg's decision?  If he wanted Nebraska he could have committed on the spot.

Reading some ISU fan-sites I got the impression that if not ISU, Indiana would be his choice -  some felt "Nebby is a mess" and why go there (But just wait until next year when the incoming class and AWIII get going  :) ).    Think I'd rather play for a 'Miles' than a 'Crean' but that's just me.

That's a stretch when we are a long ways away from closing the deal with Paschal.  He is visiting KU now and will most likely visit Michigan State and/or Virginia yet.  Not sure you tell a kid that the scholarship is no longer available at this point unless Paschal said he was going to cancel his other visits and committed on the spot.  No question we'd rather have Paschal commit but Max would have been a great fill in player for this year as well.

I'd agree. A lot more likely that we were the alternative to Iowa St if Hoiberg left until Indiana hopped into the picture. The timing of the Hoiberg announcement seems a lot more relevant than whatever Paschal is doing.

Looks like to him it was a combination of graduate options, playing time, and probable success in 2015-16. I read this as him acknowledging that playing time would be easier to come by at Nebraska so that itself wasn't a deciding factor.
