Norm Peterson Posted March 25, 2015 Report Posted March 25, 2015 Props to the author. If you post here, go ahead and tip your cap. http://huskermetrics.blogspot.com/2015/03/180-shooting-and-nebrasketball.html It's worth a gander. Especially look at the comparison of overall shooting performance by our players in '14-'15 compared with '13-'14. Quote

Norm Peterson Posted March 25, 2015 Author Report Posted March 25, 2015 If you know whose blog this is, tell him nice work and keep it up. I notice there are few comments so s/he's probably getting very little feedback and sometimes it might seem pointless to keep doing this if it's only for your own entertainment, but these posts are good conversation starters and worth the read. Interesting. Again, props to whoever does this blog: Huskermetrics. Quote
Huskerpapa Posted March 25, 2015 Report Posted March 25, 2015 Nicely done, and very informative. For those that feel as if Tai did not improve, this would tend to prove otherwise. Factor in his improved defense tells me that he will be a key player for us next year. Quote
Bugeaters1 Posted March 25, 2015 Report Posted March 25, 2015 What Tai improved, from all of the hate he got this year you would have thought that he had regression. And not improved. Quote

Minnesota_Husker Posted March 26, 2015 Report Posted March 26, 2015 Tai's shot got better when he started doing other things better and the shot wasnt on his mind. Tai was a lock down defender at times... and when he got minutes he added energy. Not a big shocker that Pitchford was that different. I think my biggest concern isnt guys hitting open shots, it is getting those guys open looks. Our offense doesnt seem to take advantage of spot shooters... Quote

If you're hoping to find an offense to run that avoids three of the guys on the floor, then what offense you're running isn't really the problem. Haymarket Husker and HB 2 Quote

Let's hope that changes next year, with more shooting options on the floor. Very informative, very telling. As notable as Tai's statistics were, Pitchford's are as equally notable, and a pretty good indicator of why we struggled this year. I'm hoping McViegh can contribute immediately. Will White, Fuller, and McViegh help spread the floor for Shields and Petteway to be able to attack more effectively? I kudoed the blooger for his site. Very appreciative of someone putting in the work for this. Quote
