Playing Georgetown twice is fine, but backing that up with Creighton and an overrated Providence team (a No. 6 seed that suffered a rare second-round upset) is hardly the same ringer Duke, North Carolina, Virginia, Kansas, Oklahoma, Iowa State and Wisconsin had to to through. There were far too many easy nights in Big East play and that left Villanova underprepared for March.

Out of 6 Big East teams to make the tournament, only Xavier remains.  And Xavier benefited from a first-round Georgia State upset of Baylor, allowing them to advance to the Sweet 16 by beating a 14-seed instead of a 3-seed Bears squad.

The Missouri Valley's 2 entrants into the tourney both moved on to the round of 32.

I point this out as counter to the argument in the USA Today article that Villanova was hampered by a weak conference schedule.  You could say the same of the Mo Valley teams that advanced.

The New "Big" East best win in the last two years has been vs an 11 seed.  All their other wins have come against worse seeds.  I think they can now kindly STFU until their conference actually does something of note in March.  Hey...maybe Xavier keeps advancing? Probably not likely thought considering they are double digit dogs vs Zona.
