big red22 Posted March 13, 2015 Report Posted March 13, 2015 He isn't getting any time at LSU, and we could of used him early on this season! Quote
AuroranHusker Posted March 13, 2015 Report Posted March 13, 2015 Robinson, Elbert Robinson at your service. Deng Deng would have been a nice fit at NU. He barely saw action at Baylor this season. Quote

hhcmatt Posted March 14, 2015 Report Posted March 14, 2015 Maybe we can get an Elbert Kickstarter going Quote
Minnesota_Husker Posted March 15, 2015 Report Posted March 15, 2015 I still dont know if he is the type of player we need to build the future. I prefer a guy who can move up and down the court but is an aggressive rebounder. I think ideally this team wants to become fast and ER would not fit that mold ala an Andre Almeida Quote

I'm not saying we need to be Kentucky, but balance sure would be nice!!! Quote
Swan88 Posted March 18, 2015 Report Posted March 18, 2015 Elbert Robinson III is a poster-child for the uncertainty of recruiting. Here is an article on Mr. Robinson from the Lincoln Journal-Star, dated October 8, 2013, when he chose LSU. His AAU Coach is quoted in the article as predicting that Mr. Robinson "would be in the NBA after one season of college basketball." According to LSU's official website, Mr. Robinson played in 11 games (starting 4 of those), averaged 6.2 minutes per game played, grabbed a total of 17 rebounds the entire season, scored a total of 6 points the entire season, along with collecting 13 fouls, 9 turnovers, 5 assists, 5 steals and 3 blocks. Hmmmmmm . . . Would he have performed better as a Husker? Would you take him if he wanted to become a Husker tomorrow? Quote
Swan88 Posted March 18, 2015 Report Posted March 18, 2015 How 'bout this for a trip down memory lane? It's one of the few times over the past few years when yours-truly might have actually had an astute observation (ok, "astute" is probably pushing it). Anyway, the occasion was February 12, 2013, and someone posted a clip from Nate Hawkin's high school game against Elbert Robinson's team. And I had this to say about Mr. Robinson: "It's always intriguing when the "highlights" of a 6'10" 260-280 pound 4-star are a set shot and being blown-by on defense. Not doubting the star ranking . . . but still . . . " How's that for calling a shot? Actually, reviewing that old string of posts and video brought up this question: How valuable might Mr. Hawkins have been to Nebrasketball this past season? Perhaps he's wondering the same thing? Look at Georgetown Joshua Adams only gets about 15-25 min maybe a night depending on fouls but when he is in and they actually run offense through him, he immediately changes the scope of the game, ER would do that for us, for about 15 to 20 min a game. lanigan123 Posted March 19, 2015 Report Posted March 19, 2015 Actually with another year of conditioning, Elbert will be in better position to contribute. They did an article on him and his weight loss. I don't think Nebraska wants to be up and down the court. I see them wanting to be Wisconsin. Long, lean, have guys who can shoot at every position. That's all well & good, except it seems that most everything you describe models a player like Deng Deng, who has a shorter window than ER & could have contributed this coming year better, IMHO. That's my criteria for Nebrasketball factor , 2015-16 is the breakout season! Quote
