WBB: Game #27 @ Indiana

Maybe I need to do an over under on how many layups we miss. I have it at 4 as of now.

Indiana is shooting .334 for the season with Brooks at .348 Gassion at .375 Agler at .343. Nebraska on the season is giving up .329 on treys while shooting .279 for the season. one other thought is that Indiana is ave. 5.2 made threes a game. And the Huskers are a bit under that, so I like the law of ave. in this one.

Got them right where we want them. Now come out the second half put your foot on their throat and finish this thing off.

 

Keep getting the ball to our big girls under the bucket and keep hitting that 15 foot jumper.

 

Good game out of the big girls so far underneath especially Emily. Little sloppy at times creating some turnovers. But  the guard play so far getting it done. Brandi & Tee both looking good.

They did take Cady away from the offense and sample did miss a bunny.

Poor execution last 4 minutes nearly cost a game that should not have been close.  Play was way too conservative, you have to try to score.  NU is much better in transition than set offense.  Thank goodness Romeo was clutch at the free throw line.

So how did the refs think that a second had went off the clock when the clock started as soon as the ball was handed to the the person in bounding the ball ? But it did help us in the end.

Big Big win!

 

Not fond of how we took the air out of the ball the last 3 plus minutes. Wish we would have just played and attacked like we had been. Looked as if we're playing not to loose. Just about came back to bite us in the rear end. Getting the ball in the paint won this game for us. We won by only shooting 9 three pointers and playing some good defense! That's good!

 

Emily Cady comes up with a gigantic game (22 points and 12 rebounds) to give us the W. Hailie just as clutch. Brandi Jeffery playing some big minutes both offensively and defensively (8 pts 8 rebounds)! Natalie "CLUTCH" Romeo saves the day!

 

Indiana makes 9 of 28 three pointers to keep them in the game. But the Huskers out rebounded the Hoosiers 38-35.

Our shooting percentage was much better than of late.

 

Seemed like we are more settled emotionally, and we have adjusted to the loss of Rachel, and will play as best we can, with what we have.....which is improving. Not a bad game at all. Less turnovers too.

 

As said, the end of game slow down seems to not work well.....that's just not our pace of play. Not so sure we didn't start the slow down too early.

 

Nice shooting when it counted Nat ! ....and Emily was on fire !!

Nat proves, for the future, not someone you are going to want to put at the line---especially the final moments. Job well done!!!

 

Closing moments were not pretty, though. shouldn't have been that close.

 

saw a few times where i would have liked to see natalie try and take the ball to the hoop and create her shot, but, she will get more comfortable with that as time goes by.

 

not much else to say about Sample and Cady. i liked what i saw when T moved in for mid-range jumper instead of settling for 3.

 

as i figured---no Kalenta sighting.
