No. 22 Huskers Shoot for Season Sweep of Badgers in Pink Out

The No. 22 Nebraska women’s basketball team takes aim at a season series sweep of Wisconsin on Sunday, when the Huskers take on the Badgers at Pinnacle Bank Arena.

Tip-off between the Big Red and the Badgers is set for 2 p.m.

Sunday’s game will be Nebraska’s annual “Pink Game” supporting cancer awareness. All fans are encouraged to wear pink for a “Pink Out”.

Nebraska will try to snap its three-game losing streak after falling to Iowa, 69-61. All five of NU’s most recent Big Ten setbacks have come at the hands of top-25 foes.

Tear’a Laudermill has been Nebraska’s top scorer in each of the last seven games, dating back to her 24-point performance in an 89-72 win at Wisconsin. She is averaging 18.3 points, 3.1 rebounds, 2.0 assists and 2.7 steals during the stretch, including 18 points, five rebounds and three steals against Iowa

Emily Cady is averaging a double-double with 10.8 points and 11.5 rebounds in Big Ten action. Against Iowa, Cady had nine points and a career-high 19 rebounds - the most rebounds in a game by a Husker since the turn of the century.

Wisconsin enters its second game with Nebraska this season with an 8-15 overall record that includes a 4-9 Big Ten mark. If the Badgers can get one more Big Ten win it would match their highest conference win total in Coach Bobbie Kelsey’s four seasons in Madison

As a team, Wisconsin is averaging 66.2 points per game in the Big Ten, including 74.3 points per contest over the last six games. Prior to the 72 points they put up against Nebraska, the Badgers had not scored more than 65 points in their first seven Big Ten contests. They have scored more than 70 in each of the last six games. However, during the same stretch, they are surrendering 82.2 points per game.

Coach Bobbie Kelsey owns a 39-73 overall record in her fourth season at the helm of Wisconsin,

Nebraska leads the all-time series with Wisconsin 6-5, including all six meetings as Big Ten foes.

This is a BIG, BIG game tomorrow afternoon. A win would not only stop our 3 game slide it would help us get to where we want to be! That, would be a first and second round bye in the B1G tournament. We need to finish in the top 4 to get those bye's. Right now we sit at #7. One of those available 4 coveted spots is still within our reach, but we have to win tomorrow!

Wisconsin has been putting up some big numbers in their last few outings and will come in here with nothing to lose. Hopefully Rachel and Hailie will be good to go so that we have a complete, healthy arsenal of players who will embrace this challenge and come out with our first W of many down the stretch!

yes, huskers have got to get this one at PBA, if you want a chance at being in the top four. i will be rooting for (cough, cough) iowa and illinois on tuesday night. illinois must have played a very good game against OSU. with crawford back, illinois may be turning into the team you don't wanna be playing down the stretch and going into the tourney.

Speaking of getting people back....any word on Rachel ?

She can make the difference in what could have been a probable win.

Glad this ones at home.

Come on girls... ..it time for a solid game that I know we're capable of playing.

Nothing yet, When I get to PBA this afternoon I'll post on here whether or not she is suited and ready to go. Also I finally got to listen to Thursday broadcast, and Greisch made a comment about Theriot. Say that if she doesn't come back Romeo & Smith where going to have to pick up the slack. Is that how everyone else heard that?

I tell you it's turned into a nightmare if you try to follow the Nebraska Women's Basketball social media sites! Here it is less than 4 hours until the Wisconsin game tips off and still no mention of it anywhere on social media twitter or facebook. You have to go to Wisconsin's social media if you want anything on this game.

We have the worse women's basketball social media in the B1G and it's not close. Once we lost Dominique to Drake, it seems we lost all our social media savy.

should i assume jeff was talking about the rest of the season?  man, with everything coach yori, her staff, and the players have dealt with, kudos go out to all of them for holding together a season that could have really went south. guess it shouldn't be no surprise, as they practically had no bench last year.
