Miles recruited Petteway out of high school.  Petteway initiated contact after he left Tech, I believe.

Cant compare two guys that were freshmen to a guy that is a junior.  At this point he gets Serj Vucetic type minutes as a junior at a middle level SEC school.  Not apples to apples.
