- Solid, taking-care-of-business sort of effort today.

- That's exactly the sort of game Northwestern wanted to play and it frustrated the Huskers most of the night.

- Two of the big three got back on track today. Shields grabbed the double-double on the rebound as time expired and Pitchford fell a board short.

- Petteway started strong, but struggled the rest of the way. Crawford did a pretty good neutralizing him most of the game. Thought they were going to get into it there for a while early on.

- Benny Parker. Cult legend. Also, burgeoning offensive juggernaut.

- Rivers had a nice start but didn't play much down the stretch.

- Smith is trying to do a little too much offensively right now. Would like to see him be a little more aggressive earlier on in possessions. Spending a lot of energy before he ever gets the shot up.

- There wasn't much pretty about today, but it was gritty. I like that.

- Biggest crowd in Nebrasketball history is cool.

You all take it from here.

I think you're right about Smith. He is trying to do too much, but I think that's because his teammates are doing a terrible job of getting him the ball when he has deep position. There were a few times he had his guy pinned down in front of the basket and didn't get the ball. Then when he did get the ball I think he made his mind up that he was going to get a basket or make a play for someone else to get one.

At this point, a win is a win and a much needed one.  But it seems we are reverting back to some of our bad habits early in the season.  Terran is trying to do to much by himself and not letting the offense come to him.  We had a possession that it was only a 2 man game with him and Pitchford and nobody else touched the ball.  Good win but we need to play more team ball instead of one on one which we seemed to do quite often this game.  Good win but we need to play better if we expect to win at Indiana.

My favorite part of the game was after shavon hit that clutch mid-range jumper, and he pointed to himself and yelled at Miles to "get me the ball! Get me the ball!" Then after the Benny charge, he jumped to the rafters celebrating. Gave a heck of a leg kick too.

Shields has show some serious fire in the last two home games. He was jawing with one of the Johnson's after a three telling the guy that he's giving too much room, and he'll be shooting that all game. His confidence just seems so high
