Neither of our Point Guards could knock down a 3 to save their lives, yet Norm chooses to offer up advise to our Center who has the best 3pt % on the team.

That's because Pitch has the potential to be so much better if he were to tighten up his shooting motion (I.e. modify the elbow-tastic nature of his set-up).

Everyone could be better at shooting. The thing Pitch should work on most is rebounding.

That's true because no one makes 100%; unless you're unwilling to be coachable, it stands to reason that EVERY player could improve their offensive & defensive game (even the greatest players who ever lived).

Not sure how much shooting actually goes on in practice but I know of a few high schools that have a shooting machine that  has a net to catch the missed shots and will pass the ball back to the shooter. The net is designed so that the shooter has to arch the ball or the net will block it. As stated earlier, arch is a good thing.

We've got one of those at my school.

Let's see, he is shooting right at 40% from behind the 3 point line and leads NU in 3 point shooting percentage and your telling us he is shooting it wrong?

Are you suggesting that because he shoots it relatively well that there's no room for improvement and no need to work on doing anything any better?

No, I'm suggesting that at all.  I'm just saying he's our best 3 point shooter on the team as far as percentages go so there are probably other players that need improvement before he does.

Any guesses on who has the better 3-point percentage in conference games between "our best 3 point shooter on the team" and the kid who many say has really been a disappointment this year and should maybe be coming off the bench?

Here's a hint:  It's Shavon Shields at 41.7% and not Pitchford at 39.5%.
