Row6Seat10 Posted January 29, 2014 Author Report Posted January 29, 2014 Kelsey Griffin's jersey will be hoisted up in the rafters before the game so be there early. I just can't help but think there isn't a more deserving player and representive of Husker women's basketball to have their number hang on the wall of PBA than Kelsey's #23. She's has done more for this program than any other player to put it on the map to be where it is today! Get there and give Mo' the respect she so richly deserves! Bugeaters1 1 Quote
Bugeaters1 Posted January 29, 2014 Report Posted January 29, 2014 Will Hooper jersey be the next one to go up on the wall along with MI KJ KG ? Quote
HB Posted January 29, 2014 Report Posted January 29, 2014 Hoop and Lindsay at the same time would be cool Quote
Bugeaters1 Posted January 29, 2014 Report Posted January 29, 2014 Well it's off to the Bank for tonights game. See you all there Quote
Noah121 Posted January 30, 2014 Report Posted January 30, 2014 Timeout Michigan! Huskers lead 19-8 with 11:30 left in the first off several YOU BETCHAS and offensive boards! Quote
Noah121 Posted January 30, 2014 Report Posted January 30, 2014 Huskers hanging onto a good lead--it's 30-20... make that 33-20! You betcha! Then a Theriot steal... and a basket! 35-20, timeout Michigan! The Bank is going crazy from what I hear on the radio! Quote
Noah121 Posted January 30, 2014 Report Posted January 30, 2014 28 seconds left in the first, and the Huskers are up 42-26 with the ball after Connie uses a timeout. Let's get a good shot and regain the 18-point lead! Quote
Cazzie22 Posted January 30, 2014 Report Posted January 30, 2014 Thanks for these updates Noah! I cannot get the radio feed over my computer here in Texas. Huskers are playing inspired! Quote
Noah121 Posted January 30, 2014 Report Posted January 30, 2014 I feel like Kelsey's jersey retirement ceremony really lit a spark on the team. Hopefully this carries to the second half, and the remainder of the season! Since Kelsey is the hallmark of mental toughness, maybe it will rub off on the team! It certainly seems to tonight! Quote
Noah121 Posted January 30, 2014 Report Posted January 30, 2014 There's 12:19 left in the game, and it's 62-39. GO BIG RED! Quote
Noah121 Posted January 30, 2014 Report Posted January 30, 2014 It's 66-41. What a way for the Huskers to break a streak (although there's still 10 minutes left)! Quote
Noah121 Posted January 30, 2014 Report Posted January 30, 2014 It's a final on Kelsey Griffin Jersey Retirement Night! Huskers win it 84-51! Quote
Cazzie22 Posted January 30, 2014 Report Posted January 30, 2014 Don't know where this effort came from but what a great win. Hope it instills some much needed confidence in this team. Need K.G. to be at every game! Quote
Row6Seat10 Posted January 30, 2014 Author Report Posted January 30, 2014 We looked good on Kelsey Griffin night! Where was this team in Evanston last Saturday? I think Michigan came in here thinking they could walk away with a win, but once we got rolling they knew different. Speed kills! Teara' Laudermill with her best game of the year tonight. Dare we say JHoop is out of her slump? Time will tell. If she plays, well and is hitting her shots we're a good team. Couldn't believe the assists to made baskets tonight. 26 assists to 32 made buckets! Too bad Emily's double/double streak had to end tonight. Glad to see little Sadie hit that 3 pointer! Quote
HB Posted January 30, 2014 Report Posted January 30, 2014 Everyone pitched in, including 11 assists from Theriot, who had a double-double. While not having a lot of stats, I thought Jeffrey played steady. Steady usually isn't her game, so props to her. We need to get at least one of the next two on the road. Quote
Row6Seat10 Posted January 30, 2014 Author Report Posted January 30, 2014 You could see just how much Kelsey Griffin means to this program by watching her before, at halftime and after the game especially at the half. She had all sorts of fans following her up one side of the court and back the other. Great ceremony for her tonight! She looked good! I think Coach Shimmy must have picked out her outfit! HB 1 Quote
Row6Seat10 Posted January 30, 2014 Author Report Posted January 30, 2014 JHoop with 10 boards tonight enters the elite 1000+ career rebounds club. She also overtook Kelsey for third place on the all time scoring list. HB 1 Quote
hoop_head Posted January 30, 2014 Report Posted January 30, 2014 Player of the game is all of them. What an effort. Quote
whoopdeedoo Posted January 30, 2014 Report Posted January 30, 2014 great all around game, huskers! GBR! Quote
Merlin Posted January 30, 2014 Report Posted January 30, 2014 Hooper played so much more under control and didn't press. She let the game come to her and it helped her performance dramatically. Quote
Bugeaters1 Posted January 30, 2014 Report Posted January 30, 2014 Hooper played so much more under control and didn't press. She let the game come to her and it helped her performance dramatically. And it looked Hoops shot had more arch on it as did her free throws, So maybe she was in a funk. Quote
