Why is Hawkins playing over Rivers?

 

I think Nate will be a fine player but he is not ready for Big Ten basketball.

Different positions

 

 

We play a lot of guys out of position.  Position doesn't really matter much in Miles' system.  Rivers and Hawkins are about the same size.  I liked what I saw out of Rivers last year much more than what I've seen of Hawkins so far this year.

Tai, Biggs, Petteway and Walter played pretty darn good that half.  Shavon had a bit of the good, the bad and the ugly.  Leslee could be a force, but he does not look 100%.  Man, we simply need some of those misses to be makes.

That last four minutes for us...perhaps the last six minutes was more than a bit stinky.  We need to adjust and come out strong the first five minutes of the second half...and then maintain it.  I am a bit worried that we wear out at the end of each half.

So frustrating. I feel like Iowa left the door wide open for us that half to have a 5-10 point lead at halftime and instead we are down 7. And with this team, being down 7 at a place like Iowa feels like 20. Oh wait, that's every Husker team.

Iowa outshot us 46% to 26% had 9 more FTA, and somehow we are only down 7 at halftime.  Need to keep mucking it up.

It pisses me off to no end how pathetic this team's interior defense, knowing there is a 7-footer on scholarship who is in his 2nd year in the program and is apparently so terrible he can't stand there and protect the rim.
