Just a comment about Pinder.  Clark, Nurger, and Brown are not playing on the same team as Pinder.  Sunrise has three teams.  Pinder plays on the maroon team.  Clark, Nurger, Brown and Dennis play on the Prep team so none of them are taking minutes from Pinder.

Thanks, thats what I get for trusting maxpreps.com for roster accuracy.

So it would appear that Munnings and Bain are playing ahead of him? Bain going to CSU and Munnings is uncommitted? Help me out... it's hard to find stats on minutes and such. If the guy is playing behind a CSU recruit, I would have to think he's a project...

The roster for the Maroon team is

 Roman Young 5'10"

Sebastian Gray 6'5"

Nathan Bain  6'6"

Tum Tum Nairn 5'10'

Travis Munnings 6'7"

Moataz Hosny 6'9"

Keanu Pinder 6'8"

Dusan Kovacevic 6'10"

Rueben Gurrero 6'10"

Vasilije Pusica 6'4"

Dusan Ristic 7'

Gray and Kovacevic play less than Pinder  I saw them play Creating Young Minds and the scoring was Young 9, Bain 11, Nairn 16, Munnings 7, Hosny 2, Pinder 8, Gurrero 12 and Pusica 11.  Ristic was not yet playing at the time.  My impression is that Pinder is athletic but is not aggressive enough for Kyle the coach.  He seems tentative and is not yet fluid in the offense.  He seems to be a step slow not because he is not quick enough but because it looks like he still is learning the offense if you know what I am trying to say.  I talked to Kyle before the season and he told me that Keanu is athletic but will need time to learn to compete at this level.  He will be on the Prep team next year and should get more minutes since the entire Prep team is made up of Seniors.

The roster of the prep team is

Alex Gorski 6'5"

Milutin Borojevic 6'

Zachary Brown 6'7"

Damien Blagojevic 6'4"

Rauno Nurger 6'10"

Marvin Clark 6'7"

Victor Stevenin 5'10"

Jany Rahman 6'

Luka Vermezovic 6'8"

Bakary Konate 6'11"

Larry Dennis 6'9"

Kevin Bryant 6'5"

The scoring against Quakerdale Prep was as follows:

Borojevic14, Brown 10, Blagojevic 7, Nurger10 Clark was out with an injury, Stevenin 2 Vermezovic 12, Konate out with an injury, Dennis 23, Bryant 6

Brown, Nurger, Clark, possibly Vermezovic, Konate, and Dennis are Division 1  possible signees.  I will be watching this prep team and the black team play this weekend against a very good ABCD team 1 and 2 team out of Dallas Texas.  Hopefully Clark and Konate will be playing again.

What exactly is the level of squads...is elite the best?

1. Maroon (Elite)

2. Black

3. Prep

Wouldn't the "Prep" team be an extra yr of High School hoops?

Yes the prep team should be the post HS graduate team and would he the team Pinder is on next year. I don't think the prep team should be ranked as a third tier team, it should be separated from the elite and black squads as it's level would be determined by the kids in the post graduate program. It's not a division based on talent/grade like a varsity/junior varsity system which I believe is basically how the elite and black teams are divided.

That was my understanding as well.  The very best of the college prospects are on the "Prep" roster.

I have seen them all play and the Elite and Prep teams are the best.  I would like to see them play each other.  I believe I would choose the Prep team to win but it would be close.  The Black team is the least skilled although still pretty good.  There are more underclassmen on the black team.

The Maroon team (what a maroon) that Pinder is on also has Lourawls Nairn, the Michigan St commit. I cannot imagine Lourawls would not be on the best team at the school. "Elite" just has to be better than "Prep." Just hasta.

Wouldn't the prep team consist of prep players and the other teams consist of "underclassmen"? I.e. Pinder is listed as a senior and will likely be in the prep team next year, right? Or am I off?

Yes. Dear lord we have spun circles discussing this. The prep team is simply the collection of ball players at the school that are post highschool, just as you said. These kids are doing that extra year to make sure they are ready for college. Being on the prep team has nothing to do with how good you are, you are simply on it when you run out of HS eligibility.

OK, so time to lock the thread then, huh?

No we can still talk about him. The prep team vs. elite and black teams had been hashed and rehashed 17 times though. But I suppose we could talk about that some more too. I'm open for anything.
