"If we were to take the easy way out and just go with what Ken Pomeroy's rankings say of the squads they fall as follows, Minnesota, Nebraska, Illinois, Indiana, Penn St., Purdue and Northwestern. However, with remaining schedules these teams aren't going to remain in that order if that's how you were to pick them out. Nebraska's schedule going forward is gravy. 4 of their final five come against teams with 5 or less current wins. With a home matchup against Wisconsin to finish the season. There is a very good chance that they can finish with 10 conference wins. If that's the case Tim Miles should be B1G Coach of the Year and it shouldn't be close."

"We're getting to the closing stretch of the season now, with only two weeks of Big Ten play remaining. We pretty much know the five teams from the Big Ten that will get into the Tournament, but there are definitely questions about if the conference will send a sixth team. Recently a lot of people believed Minnesota could get that last seed, thanks to a pretty resume, but that's looking considerably less likely as each week passes. However, Nebraska has rose from the bottom of the conference and now looks like it could be a likely contender for an at-large seed, though there's plenty of work left for the Cornhuskers to take care of."

"It's quite possible that the most underrated team on this list is Nebraska. The Cornhuskers have been red hot lately and have now won 5 straight games including a win over MSU. They are very much in the bubble chatter right now and if they simply beat the teams they should beat like Illinois and Northwestern, they are within striking distance for a bye in the Big Ten Tournament as well."

"If you haven't started giving Petteway serious consideration for B1G player of the year, well, what are you waiting for? The sophomore Husker leads the conference in scoring at 18.4 ppg (19.4 in B1G games) and had perhaps his best scoring stretch last week with 26 against Penn State and 29 against Purdue, both games that Nebraska won handily. Tim Miles' team is peaking at the right time and with two more wins, they'll finish conference play with a winning record. I'd like to see the selection committee try and keep them out of the NCAA tournament with 10 wins in the B1G."
