Nebraska vs. Maryland Game Thread

Maryland stifled us on defense.  They had superior athletic ability and quickness at every position,  Sure the officiating wasn’t the best but that didn’t cause the defeat.  I choose to celebrate a great season and hope that we can get in the NCAA.   If not, further chance to develop in the WNIT.

Matt said in his post game that from th people he has talked to at the BIG tournament that the Huskers were in the dance.

Nebraska is obviously a much better team currently than in December, that’s why the eye test is more important to me than metrics, RPI, SOS et. al.   If Iowa or Rutgers or Minnesota make the tournament ahead of NU, then something is very wrong with the process.

These are All teams we've soundly beaten, some more than once!

It clearly wasn't our best effort, but not for a lack of effort.  As Cazzie alluded to, their length, height, and overall athleticism combined with their effort made their D particularly difficult for us to have a lot of success on offense.  That combined with some of our best players not available enough due to foul trouble (and TK injury).  A better than expected season for sure, with hope for even more success in future years.  As for now, it's troubling that we're not more certain of an NCAA berth, but we'll make the most out of what we get for postseason.  GBR!
