With Purdue's huge posts and small guard, it will be interesting to see how Nebraska matches up and how much zone we might run against this elite 3pt shooting squad. It's worth noting that W. Kentucky's version of the 1-3-1 cause problems for the Boilermakers. Players to watch: Matt Haarms 7'3" 250lb Haarms is playing significant minutes off the bench and is actually playing some minutes at the same time as Issac Haas. He's shooting over 60% from 2 and is an elite shot blocker The Skinny Matt Painter has had some elite teams during his time as coach and Purdue and this senior heavy squad is among his best. Isaac Haas anchors an offense this is surrounded by 3pt shooters and a defense that is able to guard the 3 and be elite inside the paint. I think you'll see the Huskers try to attack the paint but they'll probably need their best 3pt shooting day of the season to beat the Boilermakers on the road. It's easy to fall into the trap of recent events where Nebraska needed to play one half of competent basketball to make everyone feel all warm and fuzzy about this season. Purdue isn't a struggling NW team playing in a library so it will take a complete game to be in the vicinity to win this game. It seems like we're still looking for a signature win. This would certainly qualify. Prediction: Purdue 84 - Nebraska 69 View full article Quote
MichHusker Posted January 6, 2018 Report Posted January 6, 2018 Will probably need 10+ 3’s this game to have a shot Quote
Nebrasketball5 Posted January 6, 2018 Report Posted January 6, 2018 Purdue has a slightly better record than 10-5.. hhcmatt 1 Quote
bball23 Posted January 6, 2018 Report Posted January 6, 2018 Purdue is very, very good. You have to hope NU can make a TON of 3's to stay in the game early. Your hope in games like this one is that you give yourselves a chance the final 4 minutes of the game. I just think this one is going to be tough to overcome. I hope I'm wrong, but Purdue is an Elite 8 type team. I am excited to see Husker Nation panic on social media as they do with every single loss we have. That's always fun. Especially in a LONG basketball season. (sarcasm should be noted in this post) Quote

hhcmatt Posted January 6, 2018 Author Report Posted January 6, 2018 Spread is now up to 19.5. It would seem gamblers are not on the Nebrasketball bandwagon Quote
AuroranHusker Posted January 6, 2018 Report Posted January 6, 2018 Love that picture of the bench after Roby hit that three late against NW. GBR Quote
