if maryland continues to play like this, very well likely could go through the season undefeated---definitely have the talent. believe the only thing that might bite them is the arrogance of a couple of players. had matt and jeff on the radio while watching cbs. made reference to that a couple of times. first half was so entertaining. then the meltdown.

with all that has gone on in the program lately, (illness', injuries) i just don't think huskers are ready for this one. i'll be in front of tv cheering on the huskers, but, just gonna be awful tough.

Michigan State Rutgers Iowa Illinois Michigan Maryland Nebraska As i look at it, there are two "toss-up" games---Northwestern vs Michigan State, and Nebraska vs Minny
-
south dakota state pissed their game against Green Bay away. credit to GB, but, had them beat. to's killed them in last couple minutes.

coach yori also did a nice little segment on emdawg tuesday night (sports nightly). caller asked what she saw in emily cady when she was in hs. emily's hard work seem to stick out the most. i did not know she had offers from most of the BCS schools around her area. all her praise is well-deserved!
-
great pics of emily!!! i was soooo hoping she would drop at least one of those 3's!!!

i sure can understand where if a coach has an education in psycology, it can be a boon! the curiosity in me wonders how bad it got, or, if coach yori nipped it in the bud (before it became a big distraction for the team). i have a tendency to lean towards the latter.
-
My wife and I looked at each other when she said that. And my wife remarked was that a slam towards names not mentioned here. you bet. my eyes got a little wider when i heard coach yori mention that. wondered if that would get a mention on the board. R-E-S-P-E-C-T

Go Emily Wood! i see what you did there! lol
-
yes, hit a couple of crucial jumpers! but (and i could be wrong here) i believe she had anywhere from a 3 to 4-5" inch height advantage when she was in there. i don't believe creighton's tallest gal even saw playing time (freshman). just think that should have been taken advantage of a little more. i remember she had one nice cut to the basket for a layup and missed one shorty. she also had the one pass go right through her hands. not sure she was set for that pass coming.
-
allie havers had a pretty good game. the one thing i would have liked to have seen is trying to get her posted up closer to the basket. i thought she could have flourished under the basket against creighton. i really like her hustle, though. it does seem she has the habit of drifting away from the rim too often. i dvr'd the game, so, might have to check that "rim" play.

we may never know the real story, but, wow. was it that bad? i just have to believe coach yori felt this was best for the team. just wow. can't say i have heard of something like this before---kid leaves and sister is released of her schollie also.
-
IF, it is true parents entered into the equation, i cannot fault coach yori letting these two go another direction. this is a very good TEAM, so on to the rest of the schedule. two more schollies! hopefully, they can get a bit more healthy.

have to wonder if it's more than playing time. i have noticed the team reaction during games i caught on tv and btnplus and kaylee was right in there whooping it up and jumping up and down at times. didn't appear to be someone really frustrated with the program. although, you never know once the doors are closed. seems weird that lanie entered the picture, though. does make you wonder, like the poster that mentioned "family beliefs" entered the picture.

ahhhhh, life of a coach.

i am in no way gonna compare this game to what duke did to alabama. i think the huskers win, but, will be surprised if it's a blowout. i think a 7-10pt win.
-
in my search to read about the Duke-Husker game, i came across the story telling how Lauren Hill's family has signed her up for hospice care now. Thoughts and prayers go out to her family and friends. i am sure many of you are aware of her situation---she is the young woman bb player diagnosed with inoperable brain tumor. i watched the game on the BTN channel---sure seemed like the announcers referenced the inability of Williams not being able to play enough. maybe just my bias coming through. what a fun game to watch. huskers are tough. Duke can really plug up the lane, allowing minimal drives. Sample and Cady had a couple of very nice drives to the basket though. if it wasn't for second and third chances, Duke really had trouble getting the ball in the hoop. the one i was really concerned about was Greenwell and thought the huskers did a nice job on her. this boot situation. geez, hope it's not a lingering thing for these players. any updates on the injuries?
-
i would have to believe coach yori told Kalenta she could see some time, but, not to be too overly aggressive because of the injury. think it may take a couple weeks or so to really get a feel for what you might get out of Kalenta. really hoping she will give valuable minutes, if not more.
-
what stood out to me was looking at havers, paige, and kalenta. my apologies if i screwed up that last name. anyway, at first glance, i thought "wow" paige and kalenta are right there with havers (height wise). photos can be deceptive though. as i looked closer, it appears havers may be a small step back. so, my guess is allie still has the height advantage. either way, they all look great! excited for the upcoming season!!! GBR!

that's what she said

Row6 is dabomb! just from what i have read about the new coach (stollings) at minny, i believe she will do a better job at keeping minny players at home than pam borton did. just think it will be really tough for coach yori to pull a gal from minny. i know it's a bit off topic, but, i will go on record right now and say minny has a very good shot at being a beast on the offensive side of the ball this season. if stollings can get them to play some good defense, they will be top 5 in big ten. they will have Z-B, Banham, and the transfer from old dominion, i believe. if carly wagner adjusts to college game quickly they will probably have one of their highest scoring teams in awhile.

http://www.wbbstate.com/info/teams-hoopsbudget should have stated all DI schools.
-
Got my fingers crossed that she'll be a Husker ! you're not the only one!
-
fwiw, i would really be surprised if a.d. at minny hires a man. i'll leave it at that.
-
sweet, eh!?! but, man, not sure you move Rachel T. the way she can pass, do you really wanna take the ball outta her hands coming up the court? i just don't think so. she has developed such a presence about her as general of the floor. imo, rach stays where she is.
