  1. They are right, he didnt exactly say commit to Nebraska as a freshman. He used a pronoun, but since the noun gave up its armature status he can't play at Nebraska anyway.
  2. Estimated numbers from memory based on my son reading it off his phone 2 hours ago: Nebraska's national recruiting class rank on 247 went up like 35 places from 50 something to 22nd after this signing. Morrow will put us up to?
  3. Tai showed some ability to score recently putting up 21 including 11/13 from the line in NZ's upset of Serbia. Good sign.
  4. Nic at night brings that joke to the masses
  5. Hammond looks like Maynard G. Krebs little brother .
  6. Your mean "den ganzen Tag träumen von Fußball"?
  7. The last pair of basketball shoes I bought were Nike but I prefer Adidas. From the department of random stuff: Just like everyone mispronounced Nike when it first hit the market, the Adidas name is still being butchered in this country. Its pronounced AH-dee-daws.
  8. I am OK with the signing and I don't have a perfect memory but I don't think anyone was writing off Petteway. There were legitimate questions raised about things such as shot selection which pretty much everyone involved including Petteway acknowledged. Solving such major issues as team chemistry is one of the many reasons I feel Miles has proven his judgement can be trusted. So I hope for the best with the signing and try to stay grounded in reality.
  9. My 10 year old made a bet with the high school coach before the Cup started. Coach took Germany and my son took Argentina.
  10. This is a random person. It was re tweeted by Kenya Hunter
  11. Germany vs. Brazil
  12. Obviously you know what it is and under normal circumstances I would ignore it but why would you go on a thead about the WC and make that lame joke. There's no point poking the bee hive unless you're Ann Coulter and get paid to act the fool. Politics and sports shouldn't mix and feel free to make your anti-jokes with your crowd but there's very little difference between what you did and when some Creighton fan trolls this board.Dean, I have no problem with you smacking Colhusker for coming on the thread and dissing soccer, but it seems that you, and only you, brought politics into the thread. You'll have to go back and show me where I mentioned politics. I compared two people who I thought needlessly poked the bee hive. Now one of them seems to have some connection to political commentary but I'm not sure where pro or anti soccer statements place you on the political spectrum. I didn't realize pointing out hive pokers placed me on a political "team."It is OK to sometimes be critical of your favorite basketball team but never your favorite political team? I've never discussed the balance between political and economic freedom nor the fundamental nature of Man on this board so I'm pretty sure you'd have no accurate idea of my political leanings, nor do I have any interest in offering any clues on a basketball board. Then why didn't you mention Keith Olbermann instead of, or in addition to, Ann Coulter? He's a classic "hive poker", not to mention mean as hell and dismissive to anyone not agreeing with his views. Anyway, read your own post. You mentioned politics. You've hammered people on here who don't like soccer since the beginning of time. You know, not everyone needs to like the sport. You're quite defensive about it. Well i took your advise and re-read my post and nope still no mention of politics there. I mentioned Ann and not Keith because she just did the "soccer is ruining America" bit and Keith did not. Mentioning her name is not politics. If I wanted to talk politics and make a list of mean-spirited people the list could go on forever from both sides of your game. Personally for me the most annoying liberal commentator is that Ed Shultz guy. Now that I've mentioned people on both Fox & MSNBC am I OK.I could care less if you or anyone else likes soccer. And I believe the only person I have "hammered" on this board has been Kidney et al. It does seem your second post does contradict your original statement of "I have no problem...." So from where I'm sitting you seem to be the defensive one and I'm guessing would not have posted if I left Anne's name out of things. And yes, I guess I have resorted to poking your hive. Well, you got on CWG pretty hard just recently. And back from that you basically said if someone doesn't like soccer, they can't be knowledgeable about basketball. As for your post, the word "politics" was taken verbatim from the post. You know a lot about basketball, and I know many of us appreciate your posts in that regard. But your memory is a little short on this other stuff, and I believe you really do care about whether people like soccer, despite your claim to the contrary. Anyway, enough. Have a nice evening.Well I looked into my heart, and nope - don't care if anyone else likes soccer. I'm not looking back through quotes but I might have said something like if you are knowledgable about both sports you will realize they are about the same sport tactically, but I do admit I am not always the most tactful. Actually I'm torn like all the new bandwagon nebraska basketball fans, they are making it harder for me to get to games. I used to be able to DVR a soccer game go about my day and not worry that someone would give away the score before I could watch it. It's getting tougher to do that now.If by saying sports should be left out of politics you say I've mentioned politics then I suppose technically you have me there even if that is the exact opposite of the meaning of that statement. Im still bitter about Carter & the olympics. So have a nice evening yourself.

  15. And Neymar has a broken vertebrae. Maybe now Ann Coulterwill think that is a serious enough injury to start to liking soccer.

  17. http://www.fifa.com/worldranking/rankingtable/ Ya but everyone knows everything about FIFA including their rankings are a joke. FIFA make the NCAA look like the most honorable organization in the world.
  18. I'm sure he will make a new one for Tuesday if you ask:
  19. It's not THE world cup but FIBA is playing some basketball. And you thought it was going to be a biting joke.
  20. Lue is down to the final two for the Cleveland job.
  21. I noticed that during this past season. Up until now I was probably the only one in the world who thought that was somewhat funny.
  22. The FIBA Basketball World Cup will be held this August 30- September 14th. They have changed the name of the FIBA world championships to the world cup this time around. And the FIFA World Cup is no secret to anyone not living under a rock, whether you want to hear about it or not. Personally I think this year will be exciting because Argentina, Spain, Brazil, Germany, Uruguay, Netherlands and Belgium are all considered favorites and that's not even mentioning the numerous dark horses. Should be one of the most competitive world championship events for any sport in a long time. Looking for some tight, competitive games after watching this years NBA playoffs. Not living under a flipping rock...it was a joke...perhaps in part due to the subject appearing where it started. When I did something similar, the subject/topic was moved. I got that it was a joke. Sarcasm doesn't translate well.
  23. Hup Holland. They are second favorite team. They are the reason I love soccer so much. Before tiki taka there was Cruyff's total football, the soccer version of a 5 man motion where anyone can end up anywhere but with 10 field players not a mere 5. I'm not that old but it was still beautiful in the late 80's with the likes of Marco van Basten, Ruud Gullit, and Frank Rijkaard. And yes I did look up how to spell those names. van Basten might be the greatest soccer player no one in America has ever heard of.

  25. Except we didn't run that much motion offense this past year. Hopefully as the players are here longer they will be more effective in that system and they can spend more time in the motion. Perception vs. Reality...we certainly run the motion offense, but we run a lot of set plays as well. "Petteway, who transferred from Texas Tech, is scoring 18 points a game in Miles' motion offense and was named first-team all-conference." http://msn.foxsports.com/college-basketball/story/tim-miles-popularity-soaring-among-nebraska-fans-031014 http://bigstory.ap.org/article/tim-miles-popularity-soaring-among-nebraska-fans http://www.syskos.com/product/333/motionoffense http://www.dailynebraskan.com/sports/basketball/article_ef73556a-5f94-11e2-8937-0019bb30f31a.html The perception is we run a lot of motion, the reality is we don't. We certainly run some motion but without breaking down all the game tapes I would feel safe saying well OVER 50% of the time on offense we are NOT in a motion. When we needed a bucket, Miles was calling a set, but most coaches want more control at those times.
