  1. Palmer got jobbed on the MVP. He deserved it.
  2. Way back of his mind. Everyone in their early 20's is immortal and indestructible. I know I thought I was at that age. He is a world-class athlete. You might think of it but you never really think it could happen to you. I don't think it will play any part in his decision,
  3. What I've learned over the years is there is not one "right" way to shoot that basketball. There are some things that will always be wrong and you should never do, but there are a couple of things in the shot mechanics that can be done in different ways and still be effective. I'm sure he and many of the people he has taught that method have been successful. I know lots of people who would think he wasn't detailed enough. Which part of your foot should hit the floor first on your steps? Personally, I like that rhythm shooting but there are quite a few that will tell you that is too slow and you need to jump stop into the catch. Myself, Ray Allen, Kobe, Bird, and Steph a little bit think you need to get your shoulders back on the shot. So take it and this for what it is.
  4. Trueblood texted Hoiberg asking for a meeting. He wants to be a college coach and playing for this guy could help on the resume and Hoiberg has been know to give folks who play/work for him a leg up.
  5. Apparently, I'm slower on the trigger than you are
  6. BBB printing already has a "Got It" T-shirt
  7. Ya but he also put up 50 on Ralston, I thought in the semi's but it might have been the old metro tournament.
  8. Clinton Childs, Michael Booker, Calvin Jones, Tony Vedral out on the courts at east campus and some fitness club we always snuck into. On the South St courts, it was winners' world so the new team matched up on D. I was stupid enough to complain loud enough where she could hear about having a girl guard me because you couldn't win. If you get beat you get dogged by your team and if you play hard you get dogged by your team. I had to look her up but it was Nafeesah Brown who played at the U in the early '90s. She promptly elbowed me in the mouth and told me, "Now you know you can go hard." I was spitting blood but we still held the court when the game was over. I not calling shenanigans on blindcheck but I saw Andre Woolridge during his senior year in high school put up 50 in the state semi's against Ralston and he had a very good off hand against some very athletic players. I don't remember much about his freshman year except he didn't play as much as he wanted but I saw him at Iowa and his left was solid as he won the Big 10 player of the year. Maybe blindcheck possessed incredible lateral quickness in the day.
  9. or the penal system
  10. That’s pretty subjective. And it would have been harder to mess up the Frost deal than close it.
  11. I agree with you in the swallowing the whistle but that call changed the outcome. If there was contact it was because the shooter kicked out, he likely was out of bounds and it was probably a 5 second violation on the inbounds. I come down on the side of referees hardly ever decide a game with their calls but this one did. And I did not have Tennessee in my bracket either.
  12. Maybe that will give Allen enough time?
  13. Trueblood is a great story right now. For him to get on the floor earlier you have to give him some of Thomas Allen’s or Harris’ minutes and that would have been a mistake. Hindsight being 20-20, he could have taken Nana’s minutes. Repeat, he is a great story right now and I’m cheering loudly for him sore throat and all. But if this team had stayed healthy and had a chance to live up to what it could have been then Trueblood could not have played big minutes. More yes - but nothing like he is doing now. Enjoy him for what he is and for what he is doing now for the team. But don’t romanticize him into something he is not. I do promise he will never have to buy a beer if we ever end up in the same bar.
  14. You had some players listed corrected but I feel you have some misses on Doc's misses. Standhardinger's issues wasn't his talent but between the ears. He ended up averaging 18 ppg at Hawaii. Diaz had bad feet, didn't dunk and played with little emotion but the guy could play. Both of them are playing basketball for a living.
  15. I agree we need to make a change. Wait, are we talking about Miles or Moos here?
  16. I've seen enough of Moos since he walked in the door to make a judgement. My grade for him has fallen to an F. If he keeps up at this pace he will earn an F -.
  17. He is going through warm-ups but ya.
  18. Which he almost did with the "secret" meeting. My grade for Moos right now is D-.
  19. I have to admit that I have no idea what you were trying to say there.
  20. There are some posts over in the game thread about page 3-5 that didn’t age well. If you read the thread backwards , it pretty much encapsulates this season and maybe Mile’s tenure.
  21. It may be/probably be/most certainly be false. I trust who told me and they are related to a coach on staff but I realize sometimes people exaggerate information. Oh, and you can't have more than 100%. It's a math thing.
  22. This is second-hand information because I got it from someone who is very close to a coach on staff but I have never talked to said coach myself. The entire coach staff of North Star considers this kid to be the best player on the team. Repeat, this is second-hand so I'm just reporting what was told to me.
  23. Nothing more to say.
  24. They definitely played pretty good defense but we missed wide open threes and layups that usually go down. I know they were missing pieces but that's a team we can beat.
  25. In the post-game interview, Miles was listing some of Watson's strengths. One of them he threw out was "loyalty." That's not a strength coaches usually list in such an interview but in this case, I can definitely see why Miles would include the trait.
