  1. Wonder what would happen if someone committed a late hit that blatant the destroyed a QB's leg today.
  2. Or Bryan Heart kicks in $200K and puts him in a bunch of PSAs about getting your heart checked.
  3. I've been on this for awhile but with this huge cash influx there should be a push to abolish walk-ons. Have a roster size limit on each sport but everyone gets their school paid for.
  4. Looking at the stats it's pretty simple. Improve rebounding from historically bad to league average, reduce turnovers by 2.5 per game. Our defense will be better because of strong additions and a few subtractions and if you rebound and cut down on fast break opportunities for the other team that helps a bunch.
  5. We had the worst defense in the Big Ten by 7 points and got outrebounded by 7 every game! Of course our pace is a part of this but this team should be significantly less leaky from the perimeter and if there's a blow by we have some rim protection. Also the less our big guys need to leave their man to help against penetration the more they can block out and rebound which will helps our biggest weakness. We lose our offensive playmakers but we should be able to make up for that by cutting turnovers from 13.4 (3rd worst in B10), which would also help our transition defense.
  6. I'd say the football moves seem better and more importantly football is much closer to being a winning program than basketball. If you have even league average special teams we improve 2-3 games. I'm having a harder time seeing it in basketball. The roster profiles as a defense first, slow it down team with the offense running through the post more than we have lately. I'm not sure if Hoiberg wants to coach that way.
  7. Creighton. Shucks.
  8. We were a total disaster on rebounding and defense last year and Juwan looks to be good at both. Embrace him.
  9. If Keita can be a good rim protector that solves a lot of the defensive issues.
  10. My buddy sent me an interesting article on Curbelo talking about how after his early season concussion he was never the same. He seems like a unique kid.
  11. Not sure how the rest of the team shakes out but a Blaise, Walker, Wilhelm front line rotation is potentially a nice skillset combination.
  12. It will be interesting to see how his workouts go. Looking at several mock drafts he's between 22 and 33.
  13. Probably the worst game in Nebraska basketball history. NW got whatever they wanted every trip. Made it home before the game was over for the first time in my life.
  14. 41 years old going to games since I was 7 and this might be the saddest game I’ve ever seen.
  15. Like they might drop a story soon.
  16. Watch USA Today is what I’m hearing. No idea on reliability.
  17. I’m counting this as a win. Total and complete BS.
  18. As a Celtics fan I've watched a lot of games with a lot of 3s and very few FTs. Loved the adjustment tonight to attack the rim against an undersized team when the 3s weren't falling. Getting to the line with a good FT shooting team (double crosses fingers) can make up for some deficiencies elsewhere.
  19. Offense runs smoothly with Kobe as PG. New guys are making a lot of mistakes on D which cost us points but also screws up our rebounding.
  20. High pnr with Verge and Walker with three shooters is going to be tough to stop.
  21. -Defense was not great, especially in the first half. Had two guys closing out on one shooter etc, but I trust Doc to get that fixed. -Rebounding will be a big issue regardless but it's pretty glaring when we play small. -I think we're going to score and score a lot. All the newcomers' shots look smooth even when they missed. -Keisei already has the gravity of an elite shooter. You can see him looking for the slightest chance to get off a three in a two man game situation and the defense is reacting accordingly which will open up things for other guys.
  22. Summaries from our non P5 non-con foes from Matt Norlander and CBS Sportsline. And if we don't play some Master P when his kid comes to town with Tennessee State I'll be disappointed. https://www.cbssports.com/college-basketball/news/college-basketball-rankings-preseason-countdown-of-every-team-continues-with-nos-200-69-for-2021-22-season/ 305. Western Illinois: One of those programs without a rudder. It claims only one 20-win season (in 2012-13) in the past 35 years. The school is heavily rumored to soon leave the Summit to join the OVC. 302. Southern: The Jaguars' average KenPom ranking the past three seasons under Sean Woods: 297. I've got Southern in the top half of the SWAC due to its respectable 3-point capability. 289. Kennesaw State: Nine of the team's top 10 scorers are back, which will 100% equate to a climb in the ratings. Kennesaw State finished 335th in KenPom, so here comes a bump. 247. Idaho State: Who wouldn't want their best player to boast the last name Cool? The Bengals will be a factor in the Big Sky with Tarik Cool. Plus, factor in that more than 80% of the team's points and rebounds return from a 13-11 team. 191. Sam Houston State: Some huge potential for the Bearkats, as they landed Texas A&M transfer Savion Flagg, who's going to almost certainly average north of 20 points if he wants to. Jason Hooten also gets Demarkus Lampley back. This team is going to the WAC and has a chance to finish top-five. 184. South Dakota: It's time to pause and give recognition to a geographically sensible and not-at-all-common nickname. They are the South Dakota Coyotes, and that is perfect. USD will likely fall in the No. 6 or 7 slot in the Summit League, led by Kruz Perrott-Hunt. 182. Tennessee State: A 4-19 team a season ago, yet Penny Collins has more momentum behind this program than ever before. The Tigers finished second in the recruitment of five-star Chris Livingston (going to Kentucky), and for the season ahead: 11 new players and a six-guard rotation. Hercy Miller is one of those guards; his father is rapper Master P. Fun story building in Nashville.
