Based on odds, it's a safe bet at least one of Davis, Allen, Thor and/or Nana isn't around as well. We'd be wise to shoot to take a guy at each spot (1-5)
-
I think we can close the gap some, but I don’t see some huge swing coming. I don’t see Creighton falling off to the extent they did in the early 90s, nor do I see us having a run like the early 90s again. Plus until we start trying to recruit Omaha, we’ll always be second
-
Don’t see anything wrong or incorrect with what he said.

Bolded the key word in the post
-
I do as well. But considering our open scholarship and Harris's versatility...there was room. I'll also go out on a limb and say Mitchell has a better career at Creighton than what Davis will here as well.

Like with all of our in-state recruiting, this will backfire on us.

KPI Ratings. The seeding order was very similar to their ratings after filtering out the teams that made the NCAA
-
I don't think he assumed that role. I think he was trying to balance both and that's what caused the issues.
-
It's fun to entertain that thought, but the NIT seeds too closely mimicked another rating system to believe it was intentional. It was just ineptitude in not looking at anything else.

What do you think the NBA Scouts told ...
nustudent replied to Norm Peterson's topic in The Haymarket Hardwood
That and he wont be playing with his back to the basket much in the NBA. -
Dont' think we will win 26 games or anything like 90-91 but we dont necessarily need too. Id say to define it as a success....NCAA. Anything less is a miserable failure and we should be coach shopping. Any type of win in the NCAA, makes this our greatest season ever....that's always a hard bottom line to have but its hard not to have that as the definition of a successful season right now
-
He struggled finding time on his prep team. I think people are being patient in that sense since his competition level steps up even further this year.
-
I think we have two very capable 4-men. We maybe have one capable 5. I think that's where we need the depth and McVeigh isn't capable of helping there. He's a stretch 4 at best. And that's assuming he's better than Heimann. I'd agree on the defined positions to a point. At some point you just need body types. Is McVeigh a more skilled player than Borchardt? Certainly. Is it enough to overlook his physical shortcomings in playing a role outside his normal position(s)? IMO, no. Long story short....not sure he's a good enough shooter to warrant the lack of physicality at the 5.
-
Harris due to his versatility. If we can truly play the point....it allows you to get creative with Watson and Allen off the ball.
-
Was hoping we'd go after him. Experienced player who can fill some of the Duby/Borchardt minutes from last year
-
Of course..if they all bust. But I don't think it's likely that we go 0-4 (even 5 with Davis). And yes we're thin up front...but moreso at the 5. That's where we need the help the most and he wasn't going to help a lot there. Borchardt would've got more time there than him. Case in point, if McVeigh was playing serious minutes for us this year....something went wrong.

Won’t miss Jack at all. With all 3 coming back, any potential role he had has evaporated also not worried too much about the two. Gill and Taylor were nice surprises and solid players last year. But let’s not make them into all conference guys. Between Amir, Thor, Thomas, Nana and even Palmer due to the flexibility of Roby and Copeland, I’m not worried at all about those minutes the spot that I am concerned about is dubys spot. Not that we can’t replace him but that we need someone better to push Jordy in the post I have no doubt Roby still starts, but until Jordy elevates his game AND proves he can stay on the floor for extended minutes without foul trouble, we need another capable post
-
Wouldn’t count on it last year was pretty fluky in a number of areas.
-
That’s fine. But if he’s not going to help this year, make sure he’s more than a role player with one year of eligibility (Lyle) Winning now also helps us with next years class and transfers as well
-
Nebraska and Clemson are top 4/5 teams in each of their leagues illinois and Notre Dame will both be rated low in their leagues.
-
Not sure it’s fair to compare stat lines at ODU to Nebraska. Small (sarcastic) step up in competition. What they do at their current schools will be more accurate
-
Not arguing the merits of a neutral site game. I'm arguing adding more than necessary and more than our piers
-
DIdn't think it was a charge. Don;t know how you can legitimately overturn it either. Block/charge calls remain the worst rule in sports
-
IMO...the future is now. Need someone that can contribute from day one. If they have to sit, they better have 2-3 years of playing eligibility left.
