Didn't Jacobson transfer AFTER Ed did? And I think the part about not thinking we were good is pretty close. It's a lot easier to accept your role, if its less than you want, when you are on a good team. When you think you can do more and are asked to do less and the team sucks as a result...that usually doesn't end well.

And? That surprises no one.

Also David Wingett at Memphis.

Jacobson had 17 on 7-8 shooting tonight

Mitch Hahn from Fremont at UNO

But we have more experience in the starting lineup this year compared to last. We traded an experienced bench for experienced first 5. That's a net positive IMO.
-
Like our backcourt options for next year. As has been mentioned...front court is the concern. As it has been the last 7 years.
-
Offensively...I'm not worried. I think Frost is a likely genius there. Another reason for a TO comparison.

I'll be happy with 2-1. Our offense is coming along nicely, though, I'm still not sold on our OL against good fronts. Still don't think our defense is very good/talented. Really wish we could fast forward the next 10 months. I don't think teams will want to play us next year.

Think we'd have 3 more wins. More than anything, this program was so broken mentally when Frost inherited it. It needed a shot of confidence. It almost came against CU...but the tough loss combined with losing Martinez led to the loss to Troy which steamrolled into the 'here we go again' route.

Dont think talent was his issue here either -
No. Not hard to remember 5* from Florida in the scope of Husker basketball recruiting

-Shooting is a major concern. We don't run. We don't have a dominant inside game. And we don't shoot well. This is a concern. Yes it is still early, but we weren't a great shooting team last year and the 3 data points we have so far for this year, we've been well below mediocre. -Roby is terrific. Enjoy him this year. -Watson seemed more comfortable. -Harris is big guard. If he can truly grasp the PG spot, in time, his size is a huge factor. -Heimann is far better than I expected at this point. He's still weak and will get snapped in half in the Big 10 but there is some potential here IMO -Don't like our sense of urgency or killer instinct (or more appropriately lack there of). We return 4 very experienced starters. This game should have never been close. This is a common theme dating back to the last few years. Yes, we ended up winning by 35, but it should have been that way, way sooner than it was. And we should be able to score more than 75 against a D2 team. -Just one data point, but I'm worried about Palmer having a Glynn type season last year. Struggling with his role. Glynn will still be a factor and Copeland and Roby will be the focus points. I can see Palmer having a lot of games like last night. -Little quality depth right now. Real curious to see how Akenten and Harris come along. -Still mind boggling we didn''t push harder for a grad transfer big or shooter. -

Heimann has a long ways to go before he can compete at a high level in the Big 10, but he''s shown alot more than I expected tonight. There is some potential there.
