  1. Ha! Creativity to the next step. What more?
  2. Must have another top-level recruit coming in. Gotta admire their success in recruiting, on the heels of an FBI bribery sting and a racism curfuffle. Hired one player’s uncle. Hired a transfer’s college coach. Creative!
  3. The only comparison reference is this: in the last College World Series played (2019), Michigan played for the championship against Vanderbilt—won the first game, losing the last two. In 2019, we played Michigan in the last weekend of the season—we won the series 2 games to 1, and then played them twice in the B1G Tournament (split those two games). Then, we had 1 win and 2 losses in the regional.
  4. Ha! Sounds like the beginnings of a trash intent/effort to me. By the way, here’s something we can take to the bank: if/when Frost leaves, all his prior successes (combined with what he’s learned here, the hard way) will result in great success wherever he goes—and all us geniuses will be belly-aching that we should have never let him go!
  5. Trashing Frost on a basketball board? Over on Red Sea Scrolls, every basketball thread and every baseball thread turns into a few posters trashing Frost. Can't have a decent thread celebrating some good things. Heck, there was (as I recall) one basketball thread where one poster had over 20 posts trashing Frost. Please don't do that here. Please! Please!
  6. Huskers won that game 102-55. Feazell played 23 minutes and had 11 rebounds, 6 points (1 of 6 from the field; 0 of 1 from three; and 4 of 6 from the line), 4 fouls, 3 assists, 5 turnovers and 2 blocks. Looks like a strong rebounder and free throw shooter.
  7. Fascinating information! A couple observations: 1. Matt “thinks Lat could have an incredible year.” Nebrasketball history is that Juco players improve substantially in their second season—e.g, Lance Jeter, Dylan Talley and Ade Dagunduro. 2. “Film lies. Don't get to see body language as much, reactions to stuff.” Nothing beats in-person evaluations, and Matt puts in the hard work—over time—to do it right.
  8. There is no doubt that Gonzaga will be a top seed in next year’s tournament—none whatsoever: they are a great team, with lots of great players, and play in a pretend conference. They would have to under-perform by dramatic proportions for any other result. But everyone still has to play the games—and Gonzaga nearly got bounced by a play-in team this tournament and got crushed by Baylor.
  9. Wow! That’s a lot of Gonzaga detail from a Husker fan—are we saying Zagsker?
  10. Cool! Didn't know Ryan competed in an Iverson-level group of players on this. Ryan fluctuated around .400 from the three point line throughout his college career--shot .429 his senior year.
  11. Yep. You never know. This isn’t exactly KU, but, “Trevor Lakes is a 6-foot-7 Division-II sharp shooter . . . Among those who have contacted Lakes include Wichita State, Illinois and Xavier.”
  12. Here is a Facebook post: Robert McGowens Sr. Yesterday at 12:36 AM · https://youtu.be/sEtsIhRhv5c Bryce Mcgowens came in 2nd place @ The Allen Iverson 3 point shoot out
  13. Amazing comeback and amazing performance by Bryce!
  14. Here is some information related to this, for what it's worth: BR: I signed with Coach Nee at Ohio U, after him watching me grow up, speaking at my Father's high school basketball camp for several years in a row. He pulled me out of the crowd after my sophomore year and had me do a shooting drill, and I did the entire thing without missing. He told me he wanted me to go to Ohio U that day. I honestly signed with him prior to my senior year, because I thought he was going to get the Ohio State job. Eldon Miller had been told he wouldn't be retained after his last year of his contract, and he stopped recruiting. So a bird in the hand....
  15. Waukee High was also Michael Jacobson’s High School.
  16. So . . . (I) a justification we’ve all heard for the bribery thing is that everyone cheats, and (II) a justification for hiring a recruit’s close relative is that Nebrasketball would do it too, given the right opportunity? Am I understanding this correctly?
  17. At least it keeps things all in the family for Creighton/TCU. This is from a March 2019 report: "According to Sports Illustrated, federal prosecutors have filed a superseding indictment which alleges that agent Christian Dawkins paid bribes to unnamed assistant coaches at Creighton and TCU."
  18. From that article: Which programs would you consider heavily involved? “Nebraska, Mizzou, Indiana, Notre Dame, and Virginia. . . . You have also now locked in your first official visit, where to? “Nebraska and I are still in heavy contact. My official visit to them is June 25-27 and I’m excited to go out there and visit the university and its facilities.” Where do things stand with them? “Coach Hoiberg and Coach Matt have done multiple zooms with me and we actually had a zoom call early this morning. They constantly show me their fast style of play and how they execute on the offensive end and how it fits my game. I feel like Nebraska will be a great team next year with the guys coming in.”
  19. That’s a high degree of certainty for no inside info. As the old saying says: “prediction is hazardous, especially when it’s about the future.”
  20. Yep. It is. Even playing in mid-major and beating NW State (twice in two days) and Dixie State and Northern Arizona and Pacific. But, seriously, beating the likes of Kansas and Iowa and West Virginia and Virginia in the early season is nothing to sneeze at.
