We haven’t been forcing many TOs. Hoping we can see an uptick there, but the competition is about to get more stiff too.

His smooth, almost deliberate style of play reminds me a bit of Bear Jones. Though he brings more to the table in terms of attacking with the ball in his hands.

Does anyone know if Brice has ever seen a zone defense before tonight? -

Nebraska postgame chatter: vol 16; ed 2 - Florida A & M
Vinny replied to Huskerpapa's topic in The Haymarket Hardwood
I don't know enough about Creighton's roster over the last few years to know why those players redshirted, who was in front of them, what injuries they were working through, if they needed time in the weight room etc. I pay attention to that program for about two or three days a year, like most of our opponents. My guess would be McDermott determined they wouldn't be in a position to help the team win at that time. Which is what I would call meaningful minutes. Minutes when the outcome is yet to be determined. If a player brings something to the table to help you win, you have to play them. For the Huskers this year, I'm thinking the most about Matar. If Blaise isn't going to get right and be able to play, meaningful minutes will be there for Matar. If the coaches think him getting minutes at the 4/5 when we're in foul trouble is better than say, sticking Brice down there, I don't think you should redshirt him. I'm of the opinion that you can learn how to set a screen in practice and still play in the games. -
Maryland loses to UAB. Indiana struggling with Army. I do not like this.

I don’t see why you’d redshirt anyone who can give you any meaningful minutes. Players have more freedom to leave than ever. Using redshirts for development is basically doing work someone else will reap the benefits of. -

Well, my scoring prediction is screwed for the year already. -
I was being 100% sarcastic.

In a way he was simply in the wrong place at the wrong time. In the first case, the place he should have been was next to his parents, because you can drink underage in WI with your parents. The time he also could have been in was three years into the future making him old enough anyway. And if you look at where marijuana is legal these days, WI is an island surrounded by legality. He just needed to cross a border, North, South, East or West. It’ll be legal in WI soon enough. Again, he’s just barely in the wrong place at the wrong time.

In regards to his physicality while rebounding, I wonder if Mast was hesitant at all. First game in a mask and has injuries still healing. -
Just shut your mouth, Robin!

I’m glad we COULD have a 10 player rotation, even we only end up with an eight player rotation. Extremely rare to make it through a season without injuries, and we have players who can step up when it happens. -

Maybe I’m letting my over all impression of college coaches influence my thoughts here. Usually coaches allude to “gotta get right in the classroom” or “needs to be a better teammate” when players are skipping class or late to meetings/weights/practice. But you’re right, Fred tends to keep those things very in house.

It’s weird that no explanation, or even a hint at what it is has been given. The “day-to-day” timeline being given actually makes me think grades. Something that can change with each assignment, quiz, test etc.

Well, if it takes into account level of competition, it makes sense that his rating might be expected to drop, given the step up in competition from the MVC to the B1G. But should it drop that much?

Do you prorate NIL deals when something like this happens?
