  1. I knew it would get chippy today. Trey did take it too far with the flying elbow. He was on the edge today, there were a couple other close ones.. Trust me, I have zero issue playing on that edge.
  2. Good lord. Very proud. Nicely done. If nothing else, we should be building momentum for next year.
  3. Ughhhh...well, crap. That said, good run!
  4. https://journalstar.com/sports/huskers/mens-basketball/former-husker-basketball-guard-dylan-talley-dies-at-32-his-former-coach-says/article_09e6fed7-22f8-5d50-9a55-6aff0dab2a99.html
  5. RIP Dylan!
  6. Must say, my heart was in my throat at times. Lot's of ebbs and flows. If nothing else it proves we can win against anyone plus we have a resiliant bunch. Hey someone is in foul trouble, someone else steps up. We continue to come out in the third quarter and play spectacular. Someone(s) making some great halftime adjustments and the ladies certainly take to the coaching. As others have said...not bad by a bubble team!
  7. Wow...just wow. Great game!!!! Great win!!!
  8. Maybe I misread the article; but I believe Coffeyville's season is now completed. I believe they were knocked out by their arch-rival Garden City. Blaise played 30 minutes and had 7 points (3-8 & 1-2) and 12 rebounds. I was hoping (after last years results) that he would come here and be a rather dominate force. Now, I am not convinced that will happen. Perhaps his injury slowed him (as mentioned above), perhaps not... Heck, we need for him to be very good, at a bare minimum.
  9. I hope Jaz's wrist is okay tomorrow. Raining all those threes may make it a bit sore
  10. Well played huskers.
  11. Sanago is a very good player. He was having bad luck last night, in that his shots just were not falling. I don't think Kalkbrenner intimidated him???? But maybe Sanago rushed his shot a bit because of him. Sanago's straight up man on Kalkbrenner appeared good; but Creighton started to make the extra passes and when Sanago helped off, nobody provided backside help, freeing Kalkbrenner up. Big win for Creighton.
  12. Maybe Dave Hoppen will jump on and correct me if I am wrong, but when Dave was in the game the offense ran through him. He touched the ball nearly every time we had the ball, and rightly so. He was a gifted player. During that time the post position was more about offensive skills than physicality. Did he have talent around him. Yes, but there was no question who the alpha was.
  13. What is the over/under on the amount of time it takes Trey and Davison to have a dust up?
  14. To Blackshirt83 and any other critics of the husker fans...stop. every football and basketball coach that came through this program have appreciated the fans. This includes Bo and Billy C. Yes, at times passion and unfair expectations are over the top; but nonetheless, fans by tickets, husker paraphernalia and hype to an extraordinarily high level. But most of us have reasonable expectations. They have been outlined thousands of times; but to refresh, we want to win the right way. Representing the community respectfully, hustle, work ethic are of utmost importance. Those of us passionate about husker basketball understood that moving to the upper echelon of college basketball would take time. We also recognized that the level of talent, schematic adjustments and effort seemed to be lacking. For fans not to react to that would be counter intuitive. If you or any fan critic participated in a sport at this wonderful University, you know that even the best coaching staffs spent time on the fan hot seats. This forum is a very healthy site to vent with others that share the passion of husker hoops. Some of us have been here from the start up of the site. It is sometimes ugly, sometimes sad, but always entertaining
  15. Amazing how three good performances provided a bounce back to this site and the fan base in general: * although we are what the record shows, there now appears to be a glimmer of hope and optimism * remember we also lost an important big man early on when Briedenbach went down. As we watch our youngins improve as the year progressed, I wonder what the addition of him along with Trey might have meant. * who else is sort of wishing that Alonzo had one more year? * who else is praying that Bryce & Trey say screw it...we want one more season together. * who else is sort of saying "just give us two, maybe three more wins? * hey, why not us?
  16. I have been critical of this team...rightly so. These last two games finally meet expectations. Great job team!
  17. What was the referenced dust up? I was aware of some missed games, but not of a dust up? Just a fyi, I personally define a dust up as a fight...
  18. Yes I do. There were a couple teams that were close, but no, most teams were more focused and or disciplined. A good example was Iowa. They were almost systematic in going through pregame. Hey, the game should be fun...after all it is a game. But when you get to this level, you have to be physically, mentally and emotionally ready to ball. I may be in the minority, but I cannot believe we were ready to play most of our games...either the beginning or coming back at half.
  19. Well...not good.
