You know what I love about Isaac Copeland?
brfrad replied to HuskerCager's topic in The Haymarket Hardwood
What I wouldn't give for that injury not to happen. I still think with Isaac in the line-up, we are watching our boys today or tomorrow. Oh, the life of a Nebrasketball fan. -
Hopefully, we have our rotation figured out. Matt Waldron, Fisher, and Perry. Curry in mid-week games. Hopefully, Luensmen and Schwellenbach are healthy. We'll need them.

Rewatching the game, as I went to the game last night. Tanner's technical should have been a double technical on 22. He kept pushing Tanner well after the play. I saw it at the game and now realize I wasn't seeing things. They spend 5 minutes at the monitor after the earlier technical, to add a technical to Watson. Why didn't they even look at the play? These refs were poor to say the least. There is a reason they are a ref at an NIT game.

Air Force vs. Nebraska Game Thread 2 game series.

It wasn't pretty, but I'll take an ugly win over a pretty loss. -
He is an ATHLETICS DIRECTOR. Not a football director. I'm not saying he has to go to every game to be doing his job, but his PR skills are poor. If spending family time is that important, he is old enough, and made enough money to retire. That's a decision him and his wife need to make. Right now, he has a job, and a decision to make. It looks bad to come in for one game and leave town. If he wanted to attend the Cal game, don't go to the BTT, if you might have to leave Thursday. Nobody would have been wiser to know you didn't attend Wednesday's game. Don't tell Miles you are going to make a statement, without telling him what the statement is going to be (my conspiracy theory is he told Miles what it was going to say, and Miles was able to get sympathy points).

HHCC Game #35 - vs. Butler (Mar. 20, 8:00 PM CDT)

Nebraska 68 Butler 59 5 wins -
Here's a few problems with Moos going to the Cal game given it was a spring game, and you've already been getting heat for neglecting the basketball team. So, I don't think most fans cared about visiting his family. The problem was leaving Wednesday for a Saturday game. It looks bad. Like, he thought we were going to lose and he could fire Miles, tonight. The statement could have been made before the Big Ten tournament. Plus, how many Nebraska football games will he make compared to California games?

That was this year's. Just showing you the difference in thinking from one year to another. This year, we had a better resume than Belmont and Temple. We played a good schedule last year out of conference. We beat Michigan last year. Belmont beat ZERO at-large or teams this year. Murray State might have been the only team they beat that was on the bubble, if they didn't get the auto bid. Temple beat Houston and UCF. Indiana beat Marquette, Wisconsin, and MSU twice. So, you say Nebraska last year didn't beat the quality teams last year, but beat everyone else. This year, you change it so that Belmont can make it in, despite beating no quality teams, but beating everyone else.
-
This year, we don't value who you beat. Never mind Nevada was 1 - 1 against Q1. Both games against Utah State.
-
I know we shouldn't be in, but I'm still comparing it to last year. You tell a team, "You didn't get in because you didn't beat enough Q1 and Q2 teams" one year, and the next year, you let a team in with 4 wins against the top 2 quads. Be consistent. That's all anybody asks for.
-
I just looked at their resumes, it pisses me off about last year. Belmont NET 47 Q1 2 - 2 Q2 3 - 1 Q4 17 - 0 Temple NET 56 Q1 2 - 6 Q2 6 - 2. Our resume NET 48 Q1 3 - 13 Q2 6-3. 5 wins by Belmont in Q1 and Q2 and Temple had 8 wins against Q1 and Q2. That's what upsets me. They tell you 1 year, "You didn't beat enough Q1 and Q2 teams, and the next year teams who have less wins get an at large bid.

I, for one, am a slightly keep Miles guy. But, if Moos makes a home run hire (Hoiberg, Sampson, etc), I will be more than happy. It also considers what the "end of the season" means to people. Does it mean, end of the regular season, or the end of the postseason? I feel the regular season. Why keep Miles, and especially the assistant coaches and their family in limbo because of wording?

Any news on if we can get that series in? It seems like it's been a month since we played.

The way the administration is, I wouldn't put it past them.

Our 22 wins last year, got us a road game for the NIT. 18 wins this year, gets us a home game in the NIT. Unless you truly believe we were suppose to be in the tournament, this is the exact same season as last year. The only difference is the Big 10 was a grind this year, and we lost Copeland with 12 games left. I look at sports-reference.com. Their rating system based on schedules makes this the 2nd best season in school history, behind the 26 - 8 team. Last year's was 10th. Their SOS metric's top 3 seasons in school history have been Miles' led teams.
-
He said he wanted consistency in the program. Well, last year we got a 5 seed in the NIT. If we do get a 3 seed in the NIT. Isn't that being consistent?
-
He beat Purdue who was a 7 seed., Rutgers a 14 seed, Wisconsin a 6 seed. Rutgers a 12 seed. And, Maryland, a 5 seed. Lost to Ohio State, a 2 seed. Ohio State, a 5 seed. Penn State, a 13 seed. Maryland, a 3 seed. Penn State, a 13 seed. Michigan, a 5 seed. And, Wisconsin, a 4 seed. As, a higher seed, we were 1 - 4. Average seed difference, was 1.4. Average seed difference of victories as lower seed was 4.25.
