  1. I have Iowa at 1.53. Illinois is at 2.17 tb/k. We are now at 1.43. On the flip side our pitchers are shutting down the other teams. 18.37 K per HR. 1.37 Total bases per k. 5th in the conference in both areas. We are 3rd in throwing runners out trying to steal. A couple other stats. We lead the conference in bb/9 at 3.14. I like us throwing strikes. This next stat shows how different the game is now. We are 9th in the conference with 8.33 k/9. I would have thought that would be top 5 for sure, if not near the top. The next series could be rough as PSU leads the conference at 10.31 K's/9.
  2. I would think with 20 conf games, a probable tournament, ACC/Big 10 challenge, Creighton, and a Gavitt game, probably cupcakes should be the remainder. That leaves 6 games against cupcakes.
  3. The 1st one went 2/3 of an inning, I think he gave up 6. The next pitcher went 4 2/3, giving up 9, including 7 in the 5th inning.
  4. 15 - 0 good guys. Finally took out the pitcher. I understand saving the bullpen, but you got to pull the cord, sometime.
  5. They were worried about his hand, I believe. They were taking it slowly with him. I am really high on the young pitchers ( Bo, Colby, and Kyle) seem to be studs in the making. Has anyone heard about Chad? He came into the Air Force game, threw a few warm-up pitches, and left. Listened to the post game show, and they don't say anything about him in the injury portion.
  6. If I was around in the '50's I would go with the K-State, KU games. Me personally, is the Okie State game.
  7. A battle of 2 shady coaches goes to Auburn. Both teams probably have a larger player payroll than G-League teams. ?
  8. Which is odd because when Miles was at CSU, he had 4 players from Nebraska on his final roster there. There is 3 sides to every story. Miles, Chubbik, and the truth.
  9. I know. I get frustrated when we strike out a bunch. I was watching the Yankees game, and even Aaron Judge is starting to make adjustments with 2 strikes to cut down on his strike outs. He got a hit on a dribbler up the middle. It's only one loss, we can still win the series.
  10. You can't strike out 17 times and expect to win.
  11. Arkansas or Washington State would be a good landing spot for Tim, IMHO. Both are down programs right now, and Miles has turned around every place he has been. The problem is his dad is up in age, and I don't think he wants to leave the area. SDSU might be the job for the family.
  12. 6 - 1 good guys after 7. This game feels like it is going at a snail's pace. Another solid outing, so far by the pitching staff. 1 run on 4 hits. The pitching keeps up like this, we will have a good season.
  13. That's a rule that needs fixed. If I were a 2nd basemen or shortstop, I would just stand on 2nd base. The runner would most likely make contact with you.
  14. Are you watching the game, bugeaters? Was it a bad call on the interference? Greg and Ben said Chick just slid into 2nd.
  15. Except then you would keep Miles. He nearly accomplished that in a 6 year period except for a freak injury to his best player. He would have 2 NCAA's and 1 NIT in 6 years.
  16. This era of basketball with the 3 point line, I would go Lue $6 Strickland $5 Cochran $2 Dourisseau .50 Conklin .50 (I like the stretch 5) Ffriend $1 as 6 man I think that line-up would spread the floor for Lue, Strickland, and Dourisseau. (Who also were decent shooters)
  17. I'm pretty sure every AD has hired a real basketball coach.
  18. If Roby gets flagrant 2 for his episode. 15 should have been T'd up for his tantrum.
  19. What I saw was a TCU guy laying on Roby, and Roby trying to get up.
  20. I'm a Nebraska fan, that likes Miles. If we get Fred, I will still be a Husker fan. Miles could have very well had 3 NCAA berths. If he gets those, he is still coaching. Set a school record for conference wins. Finished 4th in the conference twice. Highest since the Big 8 days. You must be an Iowa State Chicago Bulls fan with your fanboy level on Hoiberg.
  21. Our RPI went from 17 to 43 despite going 5 - 0 this week.
  22. Nice pitching for the double header sweep. Win game 2 5 - 2. Bullpen struggled a little, but got the job done. Hopefully, we get the game in tomorrow or Sunday. Really could use Luensman back. Palkert struggled tonight, although to be fair 2 infield hits was how he allowed 2 runs to score. Gomes seems like our closer, but is a freshmen. Would like Luensman's experience.
  23. Waldron and Fisher last 2 games each : 31 1/3 IP 14 H 4 R 3 ER 1 BB 23 SO 3 - 0 so far with 4 outs to go and now we are ahead 5 - 2 in the bottom of the 8th. 0.86 ERA
  24. I forgot about that. That hurts.
  25. I'm sure doathlon would be interested. He'll be the one in TCU gear.
