  1. You say that our next coach needs to have a win in the NCAA tournament to be hireable. I pointed out that Nee had won a game in the tournament, and never won one here. Plus, his conference record was 43 percent. He finished in the top half of the conference twice in his 1st 7 years, and 5 times total in 14 years. So, winning a tournament game doesn't qualify you to be the next coach. Nor, never winning one, should automatically disqualify you. The tournament has to do with match-ups. Most mid majors are not going to get a high seed. In fact, Collier had 12, 13 and 14 seeds. Doc had an 11 seed. Miles also had an 11 seed.
  2. Nee had a win in the NCAA tournament and went 0 - 5 here.
  3. Nee would be considered one of Nebraska's best coaches and he had a winning % of .431 in conference at Nebraska.
  4. I was listening to 590 AM and they brought up a good point. They said it was Miles trying to use humor, and the fact he was telling fans not to feel sorry for him if he gets let go.
  5. I don't know if he needs to go the assistant route. He is a good coach and recruiter. The problem for him is that the Big 10 has 13 others like him. Even, Chambers is a good recruiter. This league is unforgiving. Our next coach is going to struggle. Underwood took Okie State to the dance in 1 year. Illinois hasn't came close. It sucks for Miles that his best year came when the Big 10 was down, and the quad system came into effect.
  6. I agree it was a mistake letting Jordy back last year. However, do we win 22 games and 13 in conference without him? It's a really tough ? to ask yourself. Knowing he's not coming back this year, and that with all the wins we end up on the NIT bubble, barely getting in, you would not let him back.
  7. I think we probably win 4, possibly 5 with Copeland (OSU,Wis,Ill, and Pur) (Mary , possible) That puts us at 10 - 7 in conference playing for seeding right now. Copeland was avg 14 points and shooting 35 % from 3. Tanner is avg. 2 5 and hasn't attempted a 3. That's almost a 12 point difference. . Were we playing great before Copeland went down? No, but we had 1 loss at home to MSU. Since he went down we have 4 losses at home. It hurt. The ? for Moos is should it be an excuse in year 7? That's the $ 3 million question.
  8. Actually, offense seemed better today, especially first half. It helps when shots are falling. Need a coach to break down players' shots, and get them to be better shooters.
  9. I don't think it's a foregone conclusion Miles is gone. I think Moos considers Copeland's injury, who he can get to replace Miles.
  10. Losing Copeland was huge. I know we weren't playing well before, but we lost 12 PPG switching Copeland and Tanner. Refs were abysmal. Touch fouls on some trips, and Roby gets hammered, no call. Glad to see the defensive effort. Showing me they haven't quit on this staff. After Tuesday, I thought maybe they had.
  11. While Palmer took bad shots. Edwards didn't take much better shots.
  12. I really want to go with my heart over my head. I can't. Michigan 73 Nebraska 63
  13. Except Purdue shoots 37 % from 3. The 1st one was bad. No way should anyone be in the lane with 1 second on an inbound play. The 2nd one was unlucky. No one should expect a blocked 3 point shot landing 5 feet in front of the basket.
  14. We'll play like we did against PSU.
  15. We played pretty well today. This effort should be enough to beat Iowa.
  16. The foul on Harris was an awful call.
  17. Nebraska needs to bandage their arms with the amount of hacking Purdue is allowed to get away with.
  18. Exactly why he needed a RS year. If he has some more meat on the bones, he goes through Haarms.
  19. It seems like this game has been 3 and 5 the entire 2nd half.
  20. If he can start making free throws, he would be really good. But, yes he has playing well.
  21. Despite Haarms dipping his shoulder into him and traveling.
  22. On the last possession, poor defense. Can't leave Cline open for a 3.
  23. I know it is early, but 9 errors in 4 1/2 games is not good.
  24. I'm glad our fielding is improving. 2 errors in the first 2 + innings. We better fix contact and fielding, otherwise we will miss the Big 10 tournament again.
  25. It sounds like the strike zone is quite pitcher friendly according to Sharpe. Luensman has struck out 4 of the 1st 7 batters.
