Webster easily is the most disappointing player on the team. He literally has brought next to nothing to the squad over the past 10 games. I drank the Kool-Aid in the offseason (Thanks, Fran Fraschilla!), and got my expectations way too high. Even with my diminished expectations it's difficult to find anything positive about Webster other than he's gotten some good experience as a freshman. I hope he lives in the gym this offseason, because he needs to learn to shoot. Watching him dribble up court and then pass the ball around the top of the key is getting boring.

In this case it's hard for a tiger to change its stripes so quickly. I think you have to come to expect it this year and hopefully work with him in the offseason with some mental toughness to not break down defensively when things aren't going well. To me it's not just when things aren't going well, he's just so darn competitive and confident that he thinks he can ALWAYS make a play. It's a blessing and a curse.

I think we pretty much agree, and I said the same thing in an earlier post. We're simply arguing semantics.

Really??? I hate Craft but have to give the kid his due as he is a very good defender. He finds a way to defend and not get calls against him for some reason. You can't blame him for that. I hate Craft and Grant Gibbs the most of anyone else in the country but Benny is not about the same as Craft. Craft is absolutely an elite defensive guard, but that doesn't mean he isn't getting away with murder... Getting away with murder can make a good defender an elite defensive guards. He's elite, period.

Vucetic isn't good enough to waste 5 scholarship seasons on. At least that's how I read it. The sooner he's gone, IMO, the better for our program. Sorry for being so pessimistic, but it's late in Year 2, and he's still nowhere near being a guy we can count on to at least absorb fouls during a game.

I feel for you having to write a report card for this game. It was an exercise in frustration.

You're right. He has at least 2 stupid fouls a game. It's annoying. Hopefully it doesn't happen in the Big Dance.

I thought the refs were bad (horrifically bad), but, yeah, we blew an 18-point lead because we screwed up an alley oop (make than an alley oops) and the fact that we were embarrassing against the press. Seriously. We were a complete joke against it.

This might seem like a stretch, but Shields' game reminds me of the aging Paul Pierce. He isn't the most athletic, but he understands pace and angles and has a great herky, jerky drive to the basket.

Dickerson and Gesell deserve each other. Are people tweeting him or is he on here? Otherwise why would he know anything about what we are saying about Iowa. Kind of seems to be worrying a bit too much about us. I'm sure he's getting hit with a lot of Twitter "trolls" right now.
