  1. Without Petteway, Shields is our only player capable of consistently attacking the rim. Seriously.
  2. Austin gets the NBA call...
  3. Two incredibly dumb Petteway fouls. Geez. What in the world goes through his mind?
  4. You can tweet from a computer, right? Also, Hawkins is probably making a statement about his lack of playing time.
  5. I'm just gonna hope she shows a little early so I can see her over the halftime break! Tournament games have longer halftimes, right?
  6. My patient couldn't reschedule her 1 p.m. appointment today. Ugh.
  7. Lee seems to be centering in on Indiana.
  8. The best part is that we're actually playing in the tournament!
  9. So, who are we still in on for our 2014 class? I ask because I'm thinking this is setting up really well for us to get a senior transfer unless we're very quietly still recruiting a few guys.
  10. Fun game going on in Dayton. I'm glad we're not playing in it.
  11. Has the game time been set for this potential Round of 32 game?
  12. Which comes first? We hit a few outside shots to open up the inside of the zone or do we attack the zone with dribble drive to open up the outside?
  13. I know it's old news, but I guess Adidas really missed the boat by designing March Madness uniforms for the likes of Indiana and Notre Dame instead of us, eh? Side note: Baylor's uniforms will say "Sic 'em Bears." http://www.sportingnews.com/ncaa-basketball/story/2014-03-06/made-in-march-uniforms-kansas-michigan-louisville-ucla-wisconsin
  14. Perhaps this has been posted and I missed it, but I read that only one at-large team has a worse defensive efficiency rating than Baylor (NC State). Apparently there are a lot of gaps in that zone.
  15. Good post. Further, Heslip drives to the basket and puts the ball on the floor a lot more than he used to. Watching him against ISU, he did a decent job of flopping around screens too in hopes of drawing fouls. That's a little scary if Petteway is the guy guarding him.
  16. Paraphrasing Robin but he said on good authority talking with the staff that they cooled on Trey and Tarin became the top target after seeing him play. Coach Smith has been in contact since last summer and started recruiting him hard 3 months ago. Its obviously been more recent to us but this has been playing out for awhile apparently. Very interesting. Thanks for the note about it being Smith who recruited him. I wondered if that was a Hunter guy. Guess not.
  17. Dumb question, so if we go to CBSSports.com, we'll be able to watch the game?
  18. According to Tarin Smith's AAU coach, we're showing serious interest in teammate Markis McDuffie, who is a 6-6 wing and Rivals' No. 142-ranked player. http://journalstar.com/sports/huskers/mens-basketball/nu-point-guard-recruit-smart-consistent-and-ready/article_1ffdd2fa-c4bf-5a1b-9215-8ca9bb287443.html
  19. Also BR says we're showing interest in Smith's teammate Markis McDuffie, Rivals' No. 142 player in 2015. He is a 6-6 wing.
  20. Doesn't everyone have the chance to compete for playing time? Technically, yes, but there was some talk from posters about him being a possible redshirt.
  21. Interesting sentence in Lee B's write-up about Smith... Smith said the Nebraska staff promised him a chance to compete for regular playing time next season. http://bigredtoday.com/article/20140317/HUSKERS/140318681/1002#husker-hoops-lands-new-jersey-point-guard-tarin-smith
  22. I was lukewarm on him when I first took a look at him, but he's certainly grown on me. Hurley has nothing but nice things to say, and it seems like he's a classic late bloomer. Frankly, we desperately needed a true point guard in our program. While he might not be an instant contributor, he seems like a solid bet to be a solid 4-year college player, and that's pretty darned good at the point guard position.
  23. Obviously Miles is "miles ahead" of those guys, but he also has the advantage of having exceptional backing from the administration in terms of money and facilities. I don't care to debate this all that much, but let's agree that we finally have everything in place the way it should be.
  24. We could use a true point guard. Welcome aboard, Tarin!
