Selection Sunday watch party at Pinnacle Bank?
Silverbacked1 replied to colerfrederick's topic in The Haymarket Hardwood
Isn't the women's selection right after? We could double dip it and have some real fun. -
Silverback, they are "into it" as you say, but a couple of problems in making this work: No student section to stir it up and lead the way, and, the average age is about 103--it's definitely an older crowd. I realize we are fresh off of feature stories on 89 year olds standing up, but they didn't have much choice. Now, the regionals may have a different mix than our regular season crowd, and an elite 8 chance would have them fired up. Just some thoughts.... Very true, we might get a Red Zone there if they push it on campus, and we make it back to Lincoln. I know I am going to try to be there with the family.

Might this be a Destination Job for our Coach??
Silverbacked1 replied to jimmykc's topic in The Haymarket Hardwood
This is just me but I think he stays as long as his folk's health stays good. He is a family guy and being able to be close to home, brothers and sisters and his folks is important to him. Also think his kids will graduate from high school here. They have moved a lot in their young lives. I know others have moved much more and that is the nature of the job, but if you can stay for awhile when your kids are young it helps because it is such a migratory life. One bad year and some will be putting a for sale sign in his yard. -
Maybe 7 OTs like the final of the Ohio State Hockey Finals last weekend. The coaches and admins finally said co champs. Wow was that some unhappy high school hockey players.

I know that the chant has nothing to do with shaking thier hands after or clapping for the other team. I noticed that it really caused Nothwestern to not play well to start. I was watching the bench and some of the players and coaches, and I think a stat guy at the scores table were really looking around and could see it don't want to say bothered but it got in their heads. I think the gentleman from Omaha is wrong in saying it does nothing for the team. The crowd has been at a fever pitch for the tip and the other team has been shaky to start. I know that it has been because of the noise. And it has been the best since the start of the chant. Now I think we need to come up with something to start the second half. We share our seats with any other couple who sits with us at all the games. The wife of that couple has always thought we should stand to start the second half till the first basket. And she has said that when we were back at the Bob. Now the new thing next year will be, do we only pull out #NOSITDAY when we need to win the big games or does it stay for ever. Do we stand the whole game for South Carolina State when we are up 36? Or is it like the throw back jerseys? Pull it out only when we need it. Also what will happen to the #NOSITDAY if we get blown out at home. Don't see that happening any time soon but it was kind of the prefect storm to have it work like it did. I will stand as much as every body else, just something I have beeen thinking about.

Have Connie ask for it, it worked for Tim. And I think that the women's crowd seems to be more into as a whole they the mens crowd, until the last 3 or 4 games that is. Women's game crowds have always been fairly loud and in to it. SO I don't think it would that too much of a push to make it happen.

Okay here is what I found on Jean. I think I want to meet her. http://feitcanwrite.com/2014/03/06/what-we-can-learn-from-jean-peck/

Can you post a link? Please and thanks! Will try.

Related to Eminem at all? Can this be made into a poster? That would be sweet for the Red Zone next year.
-
Also found an article about Jean. her granddaughter wrote in to say that she is 89, huge Husker fan, stood on Sunday( well sat during time outs, but so did I). And just comes from a different age. i think she will come around as she loves her fake tweeter that is out there.

Love the Skerjay so much better.

Yeah, had to change my phone number twice. I haven't had this many people mad at me since I got kicked out of the Chinese Buffet. "you here four hour, you go now". "eat some broccori." Okay so I stole that but still one of the funniest stand up bits ever.

We need it to warm up.

That would be... Wait for it... Wait for it.... Wait for it.... EPIC.

I really trust Tim and the staff. Having said that one thing that could be very hard to do with this team is get the right guys to fit in. This team seems to have termendous chemistry and will most likely have that for the next 3 years. We will need to get players that don"t upset that, it would be a great time to be a High School senior with some talent that is willing to come in and learn how to play and act in college. We still need to find some minutes for both Hawkins and Fuller next year and we only lose Ray. However I think that they can make it early in the year so that the starters don't get wore out. It will be the greatest of times the next few years. i am REALLY going to enjoy this ride.

the guy who does the NIT Brackets does not have us listed any longer, but does have Minn., Ill. Ind., I didn't see anybody else but really didn't look that hard.

Wait...what?... life outside of this board?...Really?

Well I have always enjoyed spending other people's money. duh. And gee I will be stunned if our ticket prices don't go up. Get as much money from us while we are all still giddy about what is happening. If we are going to do a pissing face laughing contest. My wife has saved the State millions over the years and she thinks it might be fair to give Tim the money. So there, nana nana boo boo.

only makes the state stronger.
