  1. It took Bobby Lutz to get a reaction from Dave. As I recall, it was not Dave who initiated the "page", but someone no longer on the board. I wonder if Bobby still has his signature "'stach"?
  2. You rang? Thanks for the day, even though I grew up as more of a K-State fan, only switching to KU when I matriculated there. However, when we moved to Lincoln in 1975 we got season tickets and attended most every game at Devaney until the Pinnacle made it too expensive and inconvenient. Many happy memories of taking my sons and grandsons to games beginning with Moe's era. Was this the best day yet? We'll see how it goes but Fred H. is a good start. Will I feel unfulfilled, sports-wise, if I do not see NU finally have NCAA tourney success? No, because being a fan is about more than getting "W"s. Any unfulfilled perception dissipated following the 2004 Red Sox season. However, I look forward to the Hoiberg era with great anticipation.
  3. I would agree. According to the LJS this morning, Green's meeting yesterday went well.
  4. Good morning to all Today. Going to the all-Fred avatars evidently worked since I was pleasantly surprised to find the Red Sox came back in Oakland and broke a four game losing streak. Nice way to start the day.
  5. Many!
  6. Klas caused me to burn a precious Freddie Mercury... but I have many Freds stockpiled.
  7. And another one bites the dust!
  8. Or they could recycle Steve Alford.
  9. I actually googled Latrobe. Are you thinking of Rennie Stennett or Sedale Threatt?
  10. "Millions of peaches, peaches for me. Millions of peaches, peaches for free"-The Presidents of the United States.
  11. Arnie Palmer and Stan Musial?
  12. Yes, McFeely, sometimes you just have to do what seems appropriate.
  13. Darn it, there goes another one. You do know that this guy was born in Omaha and that his real last name was Austerlitz, I trust.
  14. I prefer this photo since it was already ovalized. At this rate, I'll be out of bullets in no time.
  15. Hey, quit stealing all of my Freds, you're spoiling my fun. Yes, this one is Fred Garrity. I thought he would be easy since the recent video. He also bears a striking resemblance to Buddy Holly. I think they shared the same glasses.
  16. I think it was named after the "G" spot.
  17. Tim was the only coach since Moe that I didn't know personally, though I did sit next to him at Mass once. I liked his upbeat tv personality as much as the media did, but as many have pointed out, some unforeseen circumstances kept his teams from succeeding at the level we would have liked and if he had been resigned to a longer contract I fear the fan base would have been hopelessly divided. best wishes as he moves along. I'm sure he will land on his feet somewhere and he will still have many fans in Nebraska.
  18. Since there seem to have been a plethora of avatar changes recently and since Moonlight has gotten the baseball season off to a slow start, I thought I would initiate a new group of avatars. It would seem to be a good time for this since we are now free of the angst about who will be coaching here for quite awhile. For those who are new to the board, Old Jimmy has done this before with some success with a library of fine leather-bound "Walters" while Pitchford played here. Unfortunately these were lost in the great computer crash of 2018 so we'll go with "Freds" this time. Some will be easy and some tougher-feel free to provide names if desired and the avatars will be changed until I tire of the game and resurrect Moonlight. So here goes.
  19. Hello everyone, I'm back from a short trip and can hardly recognize anyone from their avatars now. Did anything happen while I was gone?
  20. Enjoyed the threads this morning. Got to give Matt another up vote. Leaving on trip and back Tuesday so catching up should be an excellent way to take my mind off the Red Sox starters' somewhat disappointing beginning to the baseball season.
  21. Really, or figuratively? Either way, have a happy one.
  22. The last time I saw this much excitement about the Nebraska basketball team was....well, never.
  23. All of the Krzyzewski haters need to read this book . https://journalstar.com/entertainment/books/review-the-legends-club-by-john-feinstein/article_1a7ebcb4-2324-5512-ae83-91cfb19e6001.html
  24. No, that's a photo of the dorm chimney at Colorado.
  25. The continued pronouncements on the ongoing negotiations are beginning to smack of the old SNL (when it was actually a funny program) weekly updates on Generalissimo Francisco Franco's condition.
