  1. Since we are 9-22 against major conference competition since that Wisconsin game, you'd have to say something did change. Maybe it was blowing the 18 point second half lead in the very next game. It's similar to what happened after Sadler's biggest win, vs a No. 2 or 3 ranked Texas to make them 18-8 and 6-6 in conference, so they needed two more wins and they'd have been in the tournament. Instead they went 1-5 the rest of the year and 12-18 the next, 4-14 in conference, and 8-22 against major conference competition. Craig Smith left and Molinari came on board... That is what changed I have a boss that I like, I will perform better as I want to please that boss. If I have a boss that micro-manages the **** out of me, I'm not going to perform to make that "bosses" numbers look good. I don't necessarily agree with that statement, but that is the way a lot of people think. That is natural instinct to not perform for someone you don't see eye to eye with. College kids aren't looking for the greater good, they will perform how they are treated and taught. Do I know Molinari is at fault here, absolutely not, but a lot of signs are pointing to it. I want to be wrong with this on so manly levels, but please explain to what else it could be?
  2. #4 is so spot on... I don't get the hesitation, and the only consistent thing in all of it is Miles. If you are open let the ball fly. Simple as that There are only 2 people on the team I would be upset at if they took an open 3 look Hammond and Morrow... anyone else shoot the ****ing ball. Benny's 2 free throws. I wanted to punch my TV set when he didn't take that 3
  3. This game can be explained pretty simply 1. We did not have an answer to their Press 2. We started the game 0-7 at the FT line 3. White was cold behind the Arc 4. Everyone was afraid to shoot the basketball late, and my only thought on this is Miles gets on them if they shoot and miss (CAN'T HAPPEN) 5. Watson was cold, because he couldn't get into a rhythm (because Miles had no answer for the Press) 6. Four charges called on us in the opening 10 minutes in the game. 7. We don't play team basketball, and it is clear they need to I get it Shields and White are our go to players. Here is the problem with it, and my biggest frustration with Miles coached teams. The defense only needs to play defense on TWO people, because they know no one else is going to shoot it. He has got to mix it up and get his young guys involved. The press didn't really cause us any problems. We broke it fairly easily as it was a soft press and not a trapping press to get turnovers. The press didn't have anything to do with Watson not being able to get into a rhythm. I don't think that was one of the reasons we lost. The bigger issue is our offense against a zone. That is where we struggle. And most those charging fouls were the correct call. Never said anything about the charges being incorrect calls, but they were definitely a big reason why we lost. Miles has got to give Watson the green light. He is holding him back, and not letting him play his game. If he wants to win games Watson is going to have to shoot the ball more than 7 F'n times. He is a streaky shooter, He may have went 1-7, but could of ended 7-13. He needs to be our 3rd threat... not Tai... Not McVeigh... Not Jacobson Yes we broke the Press, but our timing was off because of it. <- Biggest reason why we lost, Miles had no answer. Tai getting the 5 second call on the inbound is unacceptable. I know people will blast me for this, but why not see what Evelyn can do. Fake an injury to the public about Tai/Benny. Say they spained their ankle, and see what he can do against Prairie View A&M Edit: Something inside of me is saying Watson/Evelyn back court would be better than a Benny/Tai... call me crazy, but those two are one mistake after another. Seriously I'm to the point where I am getting pissed at every damn sport our guys play anymore. Baseball/Basketball/Football/Wrestling... one choke after another

  5. Not gonna lie this bothers me a LOT! Why? We are not saying Benny shouldn't play, we are saying they need their roles reversed! I am a huge fan of Miles, but this thought process has got to GTFO!
  6. So the only thing Parker has on Watson then is age, minutes and FT shooting %.which is really irrelevant .006% better Watson wins in all other categories Field Goal percentage Asst/TO ratio Stealing Height Vision Total Points scored ect. ect. ect. Why is he getting less minutes again?
  7. Glynn had 5 turnovers in the first 2 games. He's had only 4 turnovers in the 9 games since then ... COMBINED. He's had some hot shooting days, like yesterday. And some not shooting days, like against Creighton. However, he started the year 0-8 from downtown in the first two games. And he's a blistering 9-13 since then. From beyond the arc. There was some discussion about him being tight/nervous the first couple of games and that he'd settle in. Looks to me like he's settled in. That floater he had in crunch time was all I needed to see. I am pretty sure he switched hands in mid air to hit it too. He's got a lot more to offer then our other ball handling guards, and the kid needs to play. How Miles used him against Creighton had my blood boiling... He went 0-5, like Norm just said he started the year 0-8 behind the arc and has been 9-13 since. You let him keep firing, because if he is hot he is a game changer He was the key to the win against Rhode Island. Miles plays him more against Creighton, I feel that game would have not hurt as much.
  8. No his shots fell this game. The kid needs to be in the game for our offense. The lack of first half minutes for him pissed me off. I'm happy with the win, and hopefully Miles finally figures out Watson needs to be in the game during clutch time. Fingers crossedSent from my LGLS990 using Tapatalk
  9. Okay, first I want to say I gotta give Coach McDermott a little credit. The guy knows how to shut Miles down, and it is "almost" fact not opinion. From what I have seen so far, I think every B1G coach should be giving McDermott a ring. Now I just vomited a little bit after typing that! Do I think the season is over? Not yet, but it is damn close. If we win the next 3, I will still have a little hope left on the year. That way I know these guys will be able to overcome that loss. If they lay an egg against Rhode Island we better look out it could be a loooooooooooooog season. I was Listening to Sipple and Benning this morning and they were arguing about players and coaching. They both made legit points, and were both right to some extent Benning Said: Nebraska has the better players, but Miles just got out coached. His argument was who had the best players on the court? Sure enough Sipple said White/Shields were the two best players on the court. He also argued that is Hegner really "better" then McVeigh? Which I would argue absolutely not. So basically Benning said Miles got out coached and that is the end of it. I agreed completely Sipple counters with: Creighton is just more balance and better all around. I also could see where he was coming from, but it falls right back to Benning saying it is the coaching. I think if the teams swapped players, the score would have been awfully similar to what we saw because it comes down to McDermott having the game plan to shut down our product. I would not say Miles is not a bad coach, he is actually the best coach we have had in a long time. I will say he is stubborn and selfish though. He needs to change his approach when playing Creighton. He plays right into McDermotts pocket. Hell I might even go as far as saying let Kenya H. call in the plays so McDermott can't counter so easily. Overall the game came down to our 3 pt shots that didn't fall, and Creightons ability to shoot lights out at the beginning of the game, and the start of the 2nd half. The Refs had their moments, but can't say they are the reason we lost. Edit: Also post play on our team was terrible! Last and final thoughts... We are down 52-35 with damn near 13 minutes left to play in the game. What is the thought process Miles has to keep Benny Parker in the game? He didn't come out until 2:38 left, and the game was already in hand. Watson may have went 0-5, but the kid gives us a chance at some offense. You know something Tai(His points came in the final 2-3 minutes of the game) and Benny(see Tai) couldn't do until it didn't matter. Also why not start to press earlier in the damn game coach? We needed a spark a lot earlier that 2:38 left in the game. The Freshman had bad games, but nobody other than White had a good game. Watson need to be on the court 25 minutes a game. Parker is a great defender, but has no business being on the damn court during that stretch. We are down 17 points, we need our scorers(McVeigh, Watson, White and Shields) in there at that time. They may be freshman, but use some damn common sense coach!
  10. I will be there... Burgandy are you going with me?
  11. I know that nothing really matters until the final resume is in. I just want to know what everyone reaction would be if we lost the game? I see a ton of positives in this team, but losing to Creighton this year I think would spoil the fun? I really think this Creighton game will ease my mind a bit if we come out with a win. Miles is due for a victory over McDermott, and I truly feel we have more talent. This team is young, but with the close play against all of our top 25 opponents -8 minutes at Villanova. I think we should win out, but with that thinking could cause for a huge disappointment! Also like to mention... I HATE LOSING TO THE ****ERS
  12. Are you sure? Not sure of the name of the the guy on the bottom, but he is hands down the worst ref I have ever witnessed and it seems we get him in all the games that matter Edit: Nevermind it is Jim Burr and thank God he retired
  13. If you go by beating the spread that also favors the B1G 9-5
  14. I had a discussion with a friend of mine before the game about the Watson/Benny thing. It seems that the prevailing thought is that Benny gives us a spark off the bench. While that's true I also think that Watson give us a spark, but it's an offensive spark. That's pretty much the only place Watson holds an advantage over Benny in my mind. And if Benny keeps shooting like this, that advantage is going to be quite small. Watson still has a lot to learn, let Benny have his moment. He's not hurting the team as much as people think/have thought in the past. On another topic, it didn't look like they wanted to help off White. Granted they didn't need to since anyone who drove to the bucket was met by a giant rim proctor. We need to find a way to go inside out to get White some open kick outs. He hasn't show me much to think he can get his own shot off. Watson is better than Benny in the following Creating his own shot Quicker at finding the open man Instinct Confidence Shooting Benny is better then Watson in the following Strength Positioning on defense Things you could go with either on Steals Rebounding I take Watson 8 out of 10 times, and Parker is more of a situation type player As far as what I underlined in your post... Best player plays...
  15. Don't get me wrong I think Shields is a great player, and without him we aren't in the game like we were. With that said... 25 shots? WTF!?! He is not head and shoulders the best player on this team, and should never be taking that many shots. He shot the ball 14 times more than the next closest guy which was Webster. White needs more shots, and shields needs to find him more. I believe Shields went 0-5 down the stretch, and was a huge reason why we lost the game. Pass the ball coach! We have multiple players that can score now, and we need to play that way. No more 25 shot nights for Shavon unless they are all easy baskets. He does not need to "do everything" the sooner he know it the more this team will benefit from it. I truly feel the "take it on myself" attitude can hurt a teams moral and confidence With that said, I was proud of the effort minus OT! I think this team has a ton of potential, and if used right can win a lot of games. We gotta get White the ball more, and Morrow needs more minutes as well. I just feel like we have more weapons once Watson and Morrow come in the game. We were down 12-3, and they came in and boom 10-0 run.
  16. Tells me we can cover him with Jack without him being overpowered physically. There is nothing wrong with more Jack. I was thinking the exact same thing. How do we cover Jekiri... with the 6'10 Spaniard stretching the defense. I predicted 80-73 Skers, but those two on the floor at the same time could really cause match up problems for us. We really need to hit our 3's tonight!
  17. Having two senior bigs down low is going to be tough to beat with our roster! I really hope we are hot from behind the arc today!!!
  18. NU - 101 APB - 62 Yep we're hitting a 100 and 1 6 players hit double figures Webster Shields White McVeigh Watson Morrow
  19. I'm going to disagree with this. I think Watson is definitely a "create your own shot" type of player.
  20. He had that sweet little hook shot in the lane in the first half. You really saw his wing span come into play there. Let's not get greedy now, Norm. Remember last year when we didn't even have a first threat out there an now you want a fourth? But yeah, that would be nice. Not sure who that'd be, though. Fuller... He was a 3 point specialist in high school. It's time he gets it back!Sent from my LGLS990 using Tapatalk
  21. No way any team should go on a 20-0 run... But 2 games in a row... Ummm I just don't get it? Sent from my LGLS990 using Tapatalk
