  1. Who did you hear that from?
  2. I liked taking summer school. Instead of 5 or 6 different sets of deadlines to keep in mind and juggle, you basically had just one or two sets of deadlines. I found it far easier to keep on top of homework, etc., when I only had one or two classes at a time than when I had 5 or 6. Put that another way: If you're a procrastinator, it's easier to cram for 2 finals at the end of a 5 week session than to cram for 5 finals and a term paper at the end of a full semester. Not enough no-doze in the world for me to go through college again. I liked some of the longer term summer classes. The 5 week ones always put me on system overload. It helped me that they were some of the last classes I had to take to graduate, so keeping focus wasn't that difficult.
  3. I wonder what the 5 week courses they'll ask McVeigh take will be. He's gonna have a rigorous summer as it is. I've take those 5 weekers before, they were exhausting.
  4. It's been speculated for March. This shouldn't be a surprise.
  5. You're hearing that we may get Max? I lost hope when I was told extra stipulations were placed on Max when considering a transfer within the B1G. Max would be a tremendous compliment to our current group. When you say 2/2, is the other Gill? What sort of stipulations are you hearing? I've heard nothing about anything that would hinder his coming here. I could see something along the lines of them not wanting to let him go to MSU or OSU, but I haven't heard about anything that would prevent him from coming here. I can't imagine he'd visit a place where he'd have difficulty getting into. I don't know the specifics but was told the B1G made it possible but more difficult for Max to transfer within the conference. Sorry, wish I had more. The source was very good. I was told not to expect the addition of a big for next season. Hope this information is inaccurate! No worries. My source is pretty close to the situation, too, but unless yours is coach Miles, I'm comfortable saying they're not close to done trying to filling that spot, whether it's Max or someone else.

  7. Why not guess Iowa State? Here is what Max Bielfeldt said about them: ""Iowa State is a phenomenal opportunity." Who's going to be their head coach a month from now? My money says it won't be the Mayor.
  8. A kid named Melo and the early predictions are that he goes to Syracuse. Who saw that coming?
  9. BTW, most of the anecdotes you hear Miles throw out there about recruiting, he's serious about.
  10. Like the seven points he scored seven points vs. NC State in crunch time in the Sweet 16?
  11. Ho-hum, just another Top 50 kid. No big deal.
  12. He was a fringe top 150 guy out of high school. Do we have room for another one of those?
  13. yeah most definitely call more fouls. We all want to go to a game that last 4 hours due to shooting of 150+ freethrows. Calling more fouls early in a season, if the refs stick with it and are consistent with it, will eventually loosen the game up considerably after a rough adjustment period. Teams, coaches and players will adjust or they'll lose games. ok...but that's a big if....we had a number of games last year that had way too many fouls called...and those turned out to be some of the most boring games ever becuase they kept disrupting the flow of the game. How do you address that problem. It also seems (and I could very well be reading you wrong) that you think that it all lays on the Teams, Coachs and Players. You don't think they need to do something about the officials? Like more consistancey, and weed out the officials that feel that they are the stars of the show? Yes, some of it is on the Teams....but they need to do something about the officials as well. The biggest thing that would need to change is there would need to be more consistency in how refs are held accountable and how games are called from conference to conference. The refs can't start by emphasizing one thing and then back off it. They have to be as consistent as possible and a lot of that comes from how they are evaluated and held accountable. If that gets fixed, the officiating will be better and more consistent. If that happens (and I'm not really expecting it to) then it will absolutely be on the players and coaches. That said, when NU is getting consistently called for more fouls than other teams, that's not a referee bias. That's an undisciplined defensive team.

  15. It appears to me that he is the receiver and not the passer on that play. dang it
  16. I'm guessing this video has been posted somewhere, but check this pass at :38. I don't think there's anyone on the roster who can make this pass. Not sure the PG who just left could either. https://youtu.be/1RUAL4mfuT0
  17. Actually, it's a Big Ten site. The SB Nation site for Ohio Site is Land Grant Holy Land. The guy who wrote the piece is actually a Northwestern guy.
  18. True, but ESPN went ahead & published it for wide circulation (virtually speaking)... Do you think their bot automatically picks up all AP sports stories? Doubt that it's automatic, but I'd assume they run just about everything of this nature for schools from major conferences.
  19. I'm assuming that's the University of Nebraska system encompassing all four campuses.
  20. Sorry to be that guy, but that's just the AP story. That's Eric Olson's report.
  21. Not quite and we've still got a couple years to go:Ryan Boldt was the #15 recruit out of high school. Marlon Lucky was #13. Baker Steinkuhler was #37 So, if he is a top 10 player, he'd be higher than all of those, no? Sure. But as of right now, the answer to your question is no. We'll see if he jumps up over the next couple of years.
  22. Back in February, there was a lot of disgust by a couple of assistant coaches who took jobs just a day or two after signing day and recruits feeling misled and such. I think that's gotta be a fair question here, right? Did McVeigh know this was coming? It seems a little sketchy that he'd leave so quickly after signing day. Wonder if McVeigh feels a little misled with this move.
