  2. You'd have to ask their girlfriends....... Cip, for the sake of all...
  3. Hilarious post coming from you Tom! If roles were reversed you would be the first person to bitch and moan on the bluejay board that something Husker related was put on your board. That's why I posted it under "College Basketball", instead of "HHC Devaney Dungeon." If there was not a "College Basketball" forum, I would not have posted it. Have a Happy new Year. Great point....we do have a college bball section for a reason...to discuss other teams and players...and this is about a great kid connected to college ball.I have to admit I also have tremendous empathy for this kid, since I was also diagnosed as a senior in high school with the need for aortic valve replacement...(in 1969, that was the end to competitive sports)...that Jones could still compete at the college level is quite a story.
  4. Agreed that we need a power big man (better yet 2), however the search is far from desperate or over. If Miles can't find what he needs in high school or JC, you should recall there is still the transfer route, that does not become apparent until after the season concludes. We got two players last season that we never considered this time last year. A good example is Creighton center Gregory Echenique who is a huge key to why CU improved significantly to where they are now, yet who heard about him around here until he transferred? Most of these transfers have to sit out for a year, (except for the grad transfers). This team building is a process that takes time. While it would be ideal if all fell into place next year, more realistically you expect a minimum of 3 to 4 years to put a complete tournament worthy team on the court. I trust that if Miles is not after every BIG still remaining that he has a plan that is not readily apparent to us who are not on the inside. Time will tell. Yet I trust TM does not need us to set the snooze alarm on this issue or certain players....and he has a plan...that so far he appears to be working quite well. I believe TM thinks there are bigger fish in the sea than some of the players we lament about at times.( i am not referring to Agau, Vitto Brown, Tory Miller, etc...but some of the others). I am extremely grateful that he has made me once again expect progress. If we reach the first day of fall classes next year without one or two solutions for the 5 spot...then it will be time to worry....for now, you might want to study the Big East rosters for a future Husker or two fleeing a crumbling conference. 5. Several sources indicate Miles is being more aggressive with his lineup... turning to a more balanced offense to counter the defenses laying off several players...here is the LSJ version http://journalstar.c...0c89469fcc.html
  6. quote name='HuskerFever' timestamp='1355893961' post='7600'] It was my anniversary and my wife didn't want to spend too much of it watching basketball. That said, I'd give it at least a B. It was simple, yet refined! While this is a very decent grade for anybody's wife...does she know you are scoring?

  9. 2015 offer ...From Verbal commits and Scout...they report we offered a Chicago guard, D.J. Williams...ESPN has him as 89 points 4 star...but does not yet confirm the offer 12/5/2012 - 2015 SG D.J. Williams (6-5, 185, 2.7★) | Overall Rank: 34 | Position Rank: 6 has received an offer from Nebraska. - Per Scout Site ???? The old site had a section for all offers, interest, visits, etc....this does not exist here does it? If so, where?
  10. Creighton I do not know many Oregon fans but the CU fans I know have only been moderately kept from beating their chests (like a silverback!) over the last 6 years by my reminding them that the Home team has won every game back to 2004..The Jays haven't won in Lincoln since Dec 2004. And if I need to, I can remind them NU won in the Qwest in the Jays final NIT game earlier that calendar year. after the 2003-2004 season. I would love to keep this pattern alive for one more year.
  11. Erick appearred to be involved in recruiting Tai tonight...Have I missed something that connects him currently as an employee of the University? I realize he interviewed as a potential coach and was not hired. Did he get an administrative post later...or was he just a former impressive Husker helping out? Thanks, Erick either way.
  12. The two dumps to Ray with the clock all but gone were examples of times when Peltz is going to have to find the confidence to shoot...the shots he could take can't be worse than the rushed airballs we saw as a result of these last second passes...still the kid hustles and he has a nose for where to be when the ball is coming off the hoop. I am glad to have Peltz, however, if he wants to make the team better, he needs to find enough confidence in his shot to take it when necessary. This probably means he should average 2 or 3 shots a game, but this beats none and the resulting "don't bother to guard him, coach" game plan.
  13. He would not have to...but it is the wise option as he is not eligible until the first day winter classes begin...a waste of a year's eligibility to use in the last half of this one.
  14. She is actually pretty entertaining...if you haven't seen her this link is a part of the halftime show for the Buckeyes.
  15. I am happy to win the game ...etc. Color me THRILLED!...Yet, let me nit-pick/wonder at a "growing team" problem... During the closeout potion of the game, we showed a team that isn't familiar with how to win. This is not surprising...yet, the Huskers did not realize...as a team we were up by enough that we did not need to score. We were taking quick shots with 15 to 20 seconds left on the shot clock! During this game, it did not come back to bite us...but it could/will at some point if not addressed. When a team is up by 20 or more with less than 5 minutes left...they need to realize...there is no need to score, but rather there is a need to make time disappear. Our quick shot selection of this evening could let some better teams back in the game. This is a great problem to have. A growing/learning problem... that as a fan I have not seen in quite a while. Thanks, T.M. GATA GBR
  16. The belief in TIM MILES...he has that certain magic..(the new facilities are a major plus).I saw this happening with Bob D and football...but here it comes again...that feelin'...Tim M will make this happen! It may take 3 years from now...but he has the formula 4 success!
  17. I agree he has been a major liability on the offensive end of our game. If I were coaching Peltz, I would tell him I will be forced to pull him if he continues to turn down good open shots. The positives are the kid showed a nose for rebounds tonight (six), and he played decent defense...Yes, despite a few hacks...He seems overwhelmed in the new environment and he panics. He needs to make the other team be concerned about whether he will score. Right now he appears to have little confidence that he is capable of shooting and scoring...that an opposing coach may not want to cover him outside of 15 feet...which is a huge liability! I realize he is still digesting his major step up from Alliance High (where he averaged 23 pts, 8 rbs. and 4 ass. per game as a senior...and later, Western Nebraska Community College, where he averaged 7.5 pts, 6 ass. and 5 rbs. per game in his last year)... However, the sooner he gets past the shock and awe of Division 1...and later the BIG, the sooner he will become a much more complete player. MIKE, when you are wide open...SHOOT the ball! The hoop and the ball are the same as they ever were! Sorry Cip...if I knew how to plug in the Talking Heads or any video on this site...I would have saved you the effort on this quote!
  18. The crowd was great the last 6 minutes or so...the best I recall in quite a while. I would love to see a replay to see if the referees were as bad as they seemed....for those of you that were watching at home, did the replays calm you down or rile you up further...or did they not show them? And what is the explanation for calling a timeout while falling out of bounds? Great crowd...we just need more of you there.
  19. Yes, TO and Nancy were there...until about 8 minutes left in their seats.
  20. How about "Sugarloaf Mountain"...an iconic isle in the port of Rio de Janeiro...and Andre looks like he is no stranger to sugar.
