I think you are recalling this thread that mentions Eron Gordon http://board.huskerhoopscentral.com/topic/289-3rd-times-a-charm-form-eric-gordon-all-stars-for-michigan-game-weekend/?hl=%2Beric+%2Bgordon

Omaha Central HC Eric Behrens leaving for Peru State
trickey replied to AuroranHusker's topic in The Haymarket Hardwood
Well good for him...two questions: 1. What does this do for his salary? 2. What effect does this have on the Central's Ne juggernaut status? -
I imagine all of Huskerland is grateful that both you and I own a closet full of them.

Hammond falls out of final Rivals 150
trickey replied to TheKamdyMan's topic in The Haymarket Hardwood
I see a similarity between Hammonds recruiting ranking and those of Frank Kaminsky. Both were 3 star by Scout and Rivals. FK got 4 from ESPN while JH has 3. Neither was in the top 150 player of any service. In position rankings FK was 22, NR and 19, while JH is 17, NR and 23. Rivals and Scout listed FK as 220# in high school while JH is 5 to 10 lbs heavier. Looking at their pictures from high school they both look like skinny armed young kids. Kaminsky has obviously put in his years of work and we see a finely developed project. Miles is a character and attitude searcher. If he thinks he can mold Hammonds into a player, I trust he will. -
Hey, how'd you embed that tweet!?! You click on the twitter time stamp that says 5m or whatever...that takes you to the individual page then copy the address line and paste into the reply. Dimes had to teach me before I got it right.

While I could not agree with TS's thoughts on TM staying here more...I can't help but wonder if he read my post from a month ago when I responded to Norm's concern of TM leaving for greener pastures by responding in part with: "Coaches look for schools with better conference...Miles, check! Coaches look for schools with better facilities...Miles, check! Coaches look for schools with great fan bases...Miles, check! Coaches look for schools close to their family...Miles, check! Coaches look for schools with access to best recruits...OK, here we are challenged...but not nearly comparable to the football model that needs 25 to 30 recruits a year. Miles only needs 3 to 4 a year. Miles can do this. Lincoln is transforming itself into a relatively hip town! as the Haymarket evolves. Weather won't stop good athletes. Bo Ryan gets them to Madison. Tom Izzo to Lansing. Finally, coaches look for schools with the ability and willingness to spend $$$...Miles, check! Don't worry, SE gets it. I believe Miles has the ability and foresight to treat NU, not as a stepping stone, but rather a final destination. He does not need to follow another coach anywhere else...when the ultimate destination can be achieved by leading players here." In any event, Miles is here for a good stretch of time. If Izzo can stay at MSU and Ryan at Wisky...it is fair to assume the Miles family can grow and prosper in Lincoln.

Monte Harrison Basketball Highlights
trickey replied to Nebrasketballer's topic in The Haymarket Hardwood
Sat next to Ed Weir's grandson at a Husker football game several years ago & he went on & on about his athletic exploits... IIRC, he thought Ed could have his number retired in more than just football. Pretty cool story for a Nebraskan.Another multi-sport star who played at Kearney State, and drafted by multiple pro leagues, is Tom Kropp from Aurora. He's a living legend in Nebraska, and has been coaching the Lopers for nearly 25 years. And, of course, Tom Osborne starred in several sports for Hastings College. He was a pretty fine coach, best to ever coach in the Big8, Big 12 & Big Ten! Remind me...When was it TO coached in the Big Ten? -
Here is a better view of the joke!

This is like hiring Doc as an assistant...great defensive coach...schemer....Doc may not have had the closing power to get the recruiting done...but in this incarnation of Huskers, we do not need the recruiter... Yet I am betting Coach Molinari could impress a fair number of recruits with the defensive discussion...perhaps in their high schools, many gave it much too little thought. In Ken Pom defensive rankings UConn was 10...Florida 2...Ohio St, Louisville, St. Louis, San Diego State ...all in the top 10...defense wins games...and Coach Molinari is now in charge!
-
Exactly! and this is closer to his home folks! I also had dreams when I was little...they change. Get over the thought of NU being a stepping stone...we are now a destination!
