Joke 1: By my precise calculations if we manage to score 50 points a game overseas we can expect to score 500 points a game this season. Joke 2: Will the other 90% be Doc Ball?

Tim MIles will be the commissioner of the Houston College Basketball Academy. A bit about them The academies were created as part of NCAA reforms recommended by the Rice Commission in the wake of recruiting scandals that were unearthed by the FBI probe into college basketball. The commissioners will oversee basketball skills instruction and educate invitees about the academic eligibility process and life skills as they head to college. Invitations to all four camps have been sent to 1,600 rising high school seniors, juniors and sophomores throughout the country. Division I coaches from throughout the country will be invited to evaluate players from July 23-28.

I don't think I've read a single post where someone brought up a concern about any of these guys not having a scholarship somewhere other than Nana (because he was suspended). Any sort of harshness you think you're seeing is solely about Nebraska telling some guys they couldn't play there anymore and most people understood once the initial shock wore off that it's probably a better situation for those guys to go to a team that's a better fit.

First would be tracking down which teams are playing in Italy. Then I'm sure like Nebraska their schedule will show up on their respective websites.

Technically you are correct: Anyone from last year's team is guaranteed to keep their 4 year scholarship at Nebraska. That doesn't mean they get to stay on the team in this case. Given the coaching change we were allowed to move any player off the team. Thus, any of the players who transferred could have stayed at Nebraska but would have to do so as a non-basketball player. This is having your (basketball) scholarship pulled. Per Chris Heady: Under NCAA rules, Hoiberg and his staff are allowed to move scholarship players off the team despite the student-athletes signing four-year scholarships with the school. Though the NCAA protects student-athlete scholarships in nearly every case, during a coaching change the NCAA allows the new coach to deny the renewal of the scholarship for the next season. Should the players choose, they would be allowed to stay at Nebraska on scholarship, but they would not count toward the 13 scholarships allotted to men’s basketball. https://www.omaha.com/huskers/mens-basketball/amir-harris-karrington-davis-enter-transfer-portal-after-one-season/article_4edb2ab5-74f6-5428-bc00-591d502f270c.html After this year it will go back to telling a guy he should move on and that guy deciding whether or not to do so.

I think several of the college squads travelling to Italy will play these same teams so we'll be able to extrapolate somewhat where we are relative to college teams that haven't completely flipped their rosters

The lack of noteworthiness of Green vs Washington is that one occurred in Scottsbluff before Green was enrolled here and the other happened in a UNL dorm room. Nothing is going to happen with this Green deal.

They retired his number after 1 year at Texas. Being transcendent is a good gig.

This is going to be a bit more big time than the events we've had in the past. ------------------ A new era for Nebraska basketball begins on Friday, Sept. 27, as the Huskers will usher in the Fred Hoiberg era at Pinnacle Bank Arena with Opening Night with Husker Hoops. The event, which is free to the public, will feature a musical act which will be announced at a later date. The night includes introductions of the 2019-20 Huskers, a live scrimmage on the brand new PBA court, remarks from Coach Hoiberg, fan contests, giveaways and more. “We wanted to kickoff basketball season with an event that allows our fans to have a good time and get an early preview of our team as we start practice,” Hoiberg said. “We hope this event is not only the start of a new tradition for our program, but also the start of festive weekend with the Husker football team hosting Ohio State the following day.” Pinnacle Bank Arena doors will open at 6 p.m. with the event beginning at 7 p.m. Fans can start registering for lower bowl tickets on Huskers.com/Tickets beginning on Monday, July 15, at 10 a.m. with a limit of four reserved tickets per person. Upper bowl seats will be opened as needed. A limited number of student seats will be held for RedZone season-ticket holders, and information on how to reserve tickets for the event will be communicated directly to student season ticket holders. Opening Night with Husker Hoops begins a busy weekend on the Nebraska campus, as the Husker football team hosts Ohio State the following day.

http://www.verbalcommits.com/players/ahamad-bynum 6'1" SG out of Simeon (Chicago). That's where Ed Morrow came from. Pretty sure this is a Gates recruit. We must think pretty highly of him given he's under 6'5"

I'd say the timing on when that blew up was odd....it was a fairly old rumor here. Was that about basketball or was there some other reason. No idea. Otherwise you run a fine line at times when you potentially give people more leeway because of how well they do their job. If there is nothing there with Moos, there is nothing there. If there is something there and it gets buried because he's doing a good job....that's the sort of thing that makes the Jerry Sanduskys of the world possible.
