I'm very clear that what I don't like is that you're spilling this into multiple threads so let me rectify that by moving it to the appropriate thread. Also I have no idea if I would want Beard as a coach or not. Heck, I don't even know how exactly I feel about the coach we have currently.
-
Being inconsistent across threads would be to advocate that we might not know the whole story in one instance and then smearing some guy in this thread, not because you actually care, but because you just want to score some points. What I'm saying is wrong is to smash up some other thread because you're so put out about thinking you might have lost an argument in another.

hhcmatt replied to uneblinstu's topic in The Haymarket Hardwood
Notes from UNL Nebraska Post-Game Notes vs. Ohio State Nebraska scored 42 points in the second half. The 42 points marked the Huskers’ highest-scoring half in a Big Ten game this season and highest scoring half in conference play since scoring 43 in the first half at Ohio State on March 1, 2022. Nebraska held Ohio State to a season-low 60 points (previous low was 64 at Rutgers). The Buckeyes were also held to a season-low 22 points in the first half. Nebraska held OSU to .882 points per possession tonight as the Buckeyes entered the game sixth nationally in offensive efficiency. The Huskers also held Ohio State to 35.7 percent from the field. The Buckeyes entered the game shooting 47 percent on the season. OSU is the eighth Husker opponent held to 40 percent or lower shooting. Nebraska outscored Ohio State 32-16 in the paint. The Huskers have either led or been tied in points in the paint in each of the last eight games. Sam Griesel finished with 15 points, his 10th double-digit scoring effort of the season. Griesel scored 10 of is 15 points in the second half, when he was 2-of-4 from the field and 5-of-5 from the free throw line. Making his second start of the season, Keisei Tominaga finished with 11 points, his 10th double-digit effort of the season. Derrick Walker totaled 10 rebounds before fouling out, his fourth game with 10 or more rebounds this season and eighth of his career. Denim Dawson set a career high with eight rebounds, eclipsing his previous career high of three. Dawson also scored seven points, one shy of his career high, in a career high 30 minutes. Nebraska out-rebounded Ohio State, 39-38, as the Buckeyes entered the game 28th nationally in rebounding margin at +6.2 per game. With the victory, Nebraska improved to 10-9 on the season, matching last season’s win total. Nebraska snapped OSU’s five-game win streak in Lincoln, picking up the first home win in the series since 2014. It also marked the first time NU has beaten Ohio State in consecutive meetings, dating back to the Huskers’ win in Columbus last March. -

Top 11 in offensive efficiency in the country but in conference play their numbers are much lower in part of due to their 2pt shot percentage of 42.2%. Them blowing a bunch of bunnies tonight is at this point a persistent problem. -

Nebraska Cornhuskers (9-9) vs Ohio State Buckeyes (10-7) Date: January 18th, 2023 Time: 6:00 pm Arena: PBA Broadcast: BTN Ohio State Info Head Coach: Chris Holtmann Location: Columbus, OH Conference: B1G Nickname: Buckeyes Mascot: Brutus Buckeye Line: Ohio St by Typical Rotation Depth: 10 KenPom rank: 17 A couple of Famous Alumni: John Havlieck, Jim Jackson Other: Ohio St has lost 4 in a row coming into this game Nebraska has lost 5 straight to Ohio St at home If the name Isaac Likekele sounds familiar it's because he played for the Oklahoma St team that Nebraska played up in Souix Falls back in 2019 KenPom Analysis: Keeping OSU off the offensive boards will be a major priority for the Huskers especially without Juwan Gary. Seems like a team not likely to be able to pressure Nebraska into turnovers Player to watch: F Brice Sensabaugh Freshman wing Sensabaugh is already a force in the B1G, leading the Buckeyes in scoring at 16.9 ppg. Not sure Nebraska has anyone active who card guard this beefy 235# force who is shooting 46.1% from outside; Can operate as a small ball center Player to watch: F Zed Key Key is a monster on the offensive boards and converts at a Walker-like pace when he gets the ball inside Player to watch: F Justice Sueing Sueing is a scorer who can draw contact but he's also one of the more inefficient scorers for OSU. Letting him try and beat you from outside is a good strategy. KenPom most used lineup PG SG SF PF C Pct 1 2 Bruce Thornton 6-2 215 Fr 4 Sean McNeil 6-4 205 Sr 14 Justice Sueing 6-6 210 Sr 10 Brice Sensabaugh 6-6 235 Fr 23 Zed Key 6-8 255 Jr 16.8 Others to watch Freshman point guard Thorton is dealing with a sore wrist but otherwise is a 44.9% 3pt shooter Former WV Mountaineer Sean McNeil is yet another capable 3pt shooter on this team Freshman Center Felix Okpara has been a servicable backup to Key UNL Game Notes Probable starters for Nebraska 5 Sam Griesel G 6-7 25 Emmanuel Bandoumel G 6-4 0 C.J. Wilcher G 6-5 32 Wilhelm Breidenbach F 6-10 13 Derrick Walker F 6-9 Bench 15 Blaise Keita C 6-11 30 Keisei Tominaga G 6-2 10 Jamarques Lawrence - G 6-3 12 Denim Dawson - F 6-6 33 Oleg Kojenets F 7-0 12 Sam Hoiberg G 6-0 31 Cale Jacobsen G 6-4 35 Henry Burt F 6-6 24 Jeffrey Grace III G 6-3 Injured 3 Quaran McPherson G 6-3 - Out for the Year 4 Juwan Gary F 6-6 Hoiberg and Walker presser Talked about Dawson and Lawrence filling in for Gary The Skinny: Ohio St has struggled offensively in the conference though they've been shooting well from outside. It's possible that Nebraska taking away the middle will mean success for the Buckeyes. On the other side of the ball, OSU is running 3pt shooters off the line which lines up with what Nebraska wants to do. If I'm being honest here I think Ohio St wins but at this point in the season we're running on a dream. Prediction: Nebraska 68 - OSU 67 View full article

Pretty likely this will be a poorly attended game given that even if Lincoln is relatively untouched by the snow that anyone that has to travel over an hour is likely to say no. Thus it looks like I'm going to easily be able to score some cheap tickets and take the whole family. (update: even with fees one can score 300 level tickets for $3/head and sit wherever) -
Off the court, btw, Miles and Pitino are friends

I really hope lack of effectiveness is injury related and that somewhere in there is a guy who one day we can put on the court for 20+ minutes.
