  1. did you even read my post? i wanted miles to get rid of jordy in january because the team was playing better without him in the lineup, but miles pleaded for him to stay.
  2. the current starters have proven they can win 22 games, so not sure what the upside of inserting brady would be. i don't think brady is ready for starter minutes. he still needs to add some strength and develop some offensive moves. he's exceeded my expectations but there's no way he should be starting.
  3. this is definitely not the texas tech team from last year. i think we'd beat them fairly easy. i think usc would be the tougher matchup for us.
  4. 14-15 team was actually ranked in both polls coming into the season if i recall correctly. but webster gave us nothing that year, shields shot 19% from 3, pitchford completely fell off, leslee barely played, and petteway was actually worse overall than his soph year. this year's team is simply more talented than that team was glynn 4 star allen 4 star palmer 4 star roby 4 star copeland 5 star
  5. no. these guys are trying to make the nba, and nba players regularly play 30+ minutes in 82 game regular season schedule. and our bench is not the strength of this team.
  6. thought we played pretty bad for 25 minutes, yet still won by 20 against a decent team. it's hard to imagine this team missing the tournament if we stay healthy.
  7. im blaming this thread if watson is 0-10 tomorrow.
  8. one of the main reasons we got off to such a slow start last year was because we had to force feed jordy at the start of every game, and he was not efficient in the post.
  9. only negative i can come up with is that palmer, roby, copeland are 2-16 from 3 so far. seton hall game should tell us a lot more about this team.
  10. xavier is probably the better player right now, but i think amir has a chance to be even better down the road. i think xavier probably made the right move going to pitt. they started 3 freshman.
  11. they won 4 games last year but returned 2 15ppg scorers. i thought they'd be a little bit more of a challenge
  12. we should just try to win every game by this much.
  13. we really needed a game like this to get the young guys some PT
  14. glynn plays like this, we won't be sweating it out in march.
  15. keys to the season IMO: -watson shooting over 30% from 3 and over 40% from the field. -starters staying healthy. -holding a lead when our bench comes in.
  16. 5-4 if we play the akron game and martinez never gets hurt, but i think this team is going to be better off in the future because of the adversity they've gone through.
  17. i think we start out 11-2 going into the maryland game jan 2nd. then i think we slump a bit in conference play due to lack of depth and a better overall big 10 conference. 9-9 in conference. 20-11 going into the conference tourney. win 1 in the conference tourney. i think we finish 21-12 and get a 10 seed in the tourney. then i think we make it to the 2nd round of the ncaa tourney but lose to a 2 seed. 22-13 with our first ncaa tourney win will be the final result.
  18. from what i know, the coaches saw his height and juco numbers and gave him a shot. then when he got on campus he was smaller than they realized and couldn't play defense.
  19. don't think he was going to help this team this year anyways. tanner is a better option as backup big than chan would have been.
  20. my preference is to obviously have miles win 25 games this year and get a 10 year extension, but if for some reason things go badly Lue would be a dream hire here.
  21. tough to look past this current season. so much could change after this season depending how it goes. i will say that if roby leaves after this year, next year is looking like a rebuilding year. which i'm fine with if it means we make the tournament this season.
  22. watson 3-13. don't like to see that after his struggles shooting last year.
  23. you realize he has no other D1 offers right? i would think we have a great shot at this point.
  24. chang is much longer and a better shot blocker than chan. if i had the choice, i'd probably take chang. though you can argue Chan is more proven offensively based on what he did in juco. picking up a player somewhat comparable to chang with 2 weeks notice is way better than what most of us thought we'd get.
  25. decent pickup given circumstances. was he planning to go back to juco had nebraska not offered? probably would have been a bigger commodity if he had. thinking we might see a lot more zone this year given our lack of centers
