I was a student at NWU back then and they didn't win a natty. Lost in the championship game then won like the first 26 the next year but lost the first weekend of the tournament. NWU won its only title about five years ago. They were way more fun to watch than the Huskers were back then. -

There was a lone Utah basketball coach on my flight from Denver that landed in Lincoln just after 11. It was this guy: https://utahutes.com/sports/mens-basketball/roster/coaches/tyler-larson/3882 Sorry, no intel, but he will be on short rest, so we have that going for us, which is nice.

Those things aren't mutually exclusive, as the rest of the conference proves. Just need to make sure athletics remains a priority. Carter may have been the best we could hope for.

Agreed, this sucks for DONU. He just got a gigantic raise, didn't he? Also doesn't feel like he stayed long enough according to the normal expectations for these types of jobs. But he gets to decide what's best for him, so congrats to him

Nothing but singles in the 100 and 200 sections when I went in this morning. I'd rather watch on TV than the 300 section and I don't want to sit by myself for every game so I passed. That means this is an NCAA team and I'll regret my decision

Even with the Carpetland sponsorship, families have to pay several hundred dollars just to be on the team. They also have to pay for bats and gloves and most of them pay for private pitching and/or hitting lessons because high school coaches spend minimal time coaching skills. East cuts 50+ kids every year, so that's what it takes to make the team. I know all this because my son began at East and transferred to Northeast. The only high school kid I've ever heard of to get NIL in Lincoln is Malachi Coleman, so the answer is very likely no for these kids. Certainly it would be minimal at best for baseball players, and three of those boys in the lineup last night were playing only because of the three that chose the prospect showcase that made them ineligible.

Players have to provide their own helmets and don't want to buy one for spring and one for summer
-
They have all their best pitchers, and those are three starters, but all are just starting their junior years, and while they are talented, not necessarily their three best players right now. Springer and Evasco are a year older and more developed. And adding back Clementi after his 1st year of college is huge. My son pitched against them last summer, and Springer was a beast then. I can't believe he doesn't have high major offers.

USC & UCLA TO JOIN BIG TEN (beginning 2024)!
BugeaterZ replied to Red Don's topic in The Haymarket Hardwood
Not sure Florida agrees with you, they want to be the only SEC team in the state. Clemson may be similar. That said, I'd be happy to add Miami and North Carolina and let those two go to the SEC. B1G presidents probably want to take a long look at Virginia. I think Stanford gets in only if they are a condition of getting Notre Dame. I hope they stop at 20. -

Brett McMurphy reporting it's decided and an announcement is expected tomorrow. Des that make it the B13? -
A step behind is what you were

It's a lot more than the 90s. They have 12 championships and 7 runner up finishes in 41 trips to state. The last trip to the championship game was 1998. Lincoln High has 20 championships but only 1 since 1959. Omaha Central, Bellevue West, and Creighton Prep also have stellar histories but LNE is up there.
-
They are the Nebraska football of Nebraska high school basketball. An elite program over 75 years but nothing special the last 20. I have no real insight, but he will be the alpha there and would have to share that at LSW. LNE class of 93 here. And have a class of 25 child there so maybe I'll hear something in the coming months.

Hey! I resemble that remark. Also, I think there should be more excitement about Lloyd. -

Dave Hoppen. First year I went to games regularly was his freshman year -
I work at that intersection. Wonder if he saw my GOBGFRD license plates
-
I think if Wilcher is one of the 9 then you make every effort to make that untrue. Not that he can't contribute to a good team, but the consistency hasn't been there.
