  1. He'd be a shoo-in if they allowed 10 fouls
  2. I'll take 1991, which had a future first rounder coming off the bench in Piatkowski. King and Farmer were also NBA players and Bruce Chubick barely played. Not to mention guys like Scales, Hayes, and Owens that would all find minutes on that roster. And they won 26 games.
  3. Continuing to pick against us in the hopes I'll be wrong again Fake purple NU 72 Real red NU 71
  4. He may, but these things are subject to change. 7 footers with his athleticism are rare and he'd probably get drafted regardless of whether or not he's ready to contribute next year, even if he's advised to go back. His arc of improvement is exceedingly step. Or maybe he'll stick with Creighton because they believed in him first.
  5. Creighton may not get Patton back next year
  6. Wish I had been here in time to post that. Here's something weird...I think I knew Cordell Pemsl when he was about 3 years old. His aunt was on the track team I coached at the University of Dubuque. She also played volleyball, basketball and softball (I lost her for her last year even though she had been a national qualifier) during her career. She used to babysit him and he hung around the athletic offices. Another small world story ties into this...his aunt was a thrower and the throws coach (who I had no say in hiring, even though I was head track coach) was Brett Diersen, who was later a GA or video coordinator at Nebraska under Pelini. He then went to Indiana with Mike Ekeler. I think she switched to softball largely because he didn't know anything about the throws. Such is life at the DIII level, and one of many reasons I'm an accountant now.
  7. I remember a game against Missouri in 1988 ( I think, pretty sure I was in 7th grade) where we were down 17 with a little over 3 minutes to play and we came back to beat them. I'm not sure if it went to overtime or not. I had to leave early to play in a game of my own. No idea if my team won or lost though.
  8. I say yes, but not in a way that cuts down Gill. I think Miles didn't make the tough decisions on who should be in the rotation. He finally took McVeigh out and Gill obviously had to be taken out so now those 8 guys know they are going to play and don't have to be perfect. They are looser and it shows. Biggs was a completely different set of circumstances.
  9. Going with same strategy since I've been so spectacularly wrong the last two games. Nebraska 68 Iowa 70 2 bench scorers
  10. I'm not one who has posted much though I've lurked consistently the entire Miles Era and a bit before. I did announce my Miles skepticism for the first time after the Gardner-Webb debacle but I'd say he's done enough to put me all the way back in his corner. I hope you don't punch me Norm, in case we should meet someday.
  11. I think it's a mixed bag schedule. Tough teams but good timing to play two of the best on the road while the students are gone. Maybe I'm getting ahead of myself a bit, but does 11-7 in the conference get us dancing with this schedule and two great road wins?
  12. I'll be picking Nebrasketball losses until I get one right. The good news is I'm married. As all successful married men know, we're almost never right.
  13. I'm not saying he won't be one of the top 10-15 players in the conference, but those honors tend to go to guys who score a lot. I think Morrow is the type of player that doesn't get appreciated by those who only see him once or twice a year and don't realize how valuable his game is when he does it every time out. I hope my thoughts turn out as accurate as my score prediction on the Indiana game.
  14. I think Webster will get 2nd or 3rd team this year. I'm not so sure Morrow will ever get the recognition he will deserve.
  15. Exactly. After all, that's a last place team we just beat. ?
  16. Just about nailed Indiana's score. Too bad I fat fingered that 8 into a 5 for us. And where is that 1 before the 3 in conference wins? This might just cost me the championship... ?
  17. Huskers 57 Hoosiers 86 3 B1G wins
