  1. Once the NIT was no shot it was Vegas 16 or bust IMO. Looking at the CBI bracket we would have been the only BCS team.
  2. Great week. Loyola should end up with a decent RPI. Shockers are next but they aren't the Shockers of old. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  3. Should be enough to get Mich in....would be nice to have 7 Big Ten teams dancing. Still an outside shot Ohio St gets in...especially if they can beat Mich St today.
  4. A GIF needs to be made of Watson's last jumper with Coach Miles nice pat on the "back."
  5. I'm hoping for a Maryland, Ohio St, Illinois finish...that should do it. Regardless win or lose tonight the team showed up ready to play and that's refreshing because it didn't always appear that way down the stretch.
  6. Our line ended up dropping a bit yesterday. Thought the Maryland line would be close to 9.....lets get another W.
  7. Maryland a much better matchup for us compared to the other teams IMO. If we have the energy we should give them a hell of a game. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  8. Just a huge gutty performance by the team/staff. Great game plan. Not sure if we will have the legs tomorrow but we could have thrown in the towel after our finish. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  9. A 5 point lead feels like a 15 point lead at this point. Playing great defense Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  10. St. Louis fired their HC today...could be a landing spot for Harriman.
  11. Hopefully that drops them down to an 8/9 seed.
  12. Hopefully they can get all the games this weekend...looks like rain in Lincoln. After last year the power surge we are seeing from the team is welcomed. Hopefully that continues into conference play.
  13. Only 4 more wins to go before we are dancing! I like the matchup with Wisconsin...I think we can steal this one...after that it gets muddy.
  14. Get the W today and hopefully take 3 from Loyola...would be a nice start for the homestand. Anybody go to the game? Official reporting was att. of around 5K....LJS reporting 2800.
  15. Just curious for your opinion on where Jeriah Horne plays and more importantly who he is gonna take minutes from? My opinion on him not redshirting is more about guys not redshirting, not because I think he's going to play a ton of minutes. Have to think he's in the SF-PF rotation with guys like White, Jacobson, McVeigh, and Fuller. Not sure if Roby is in that type of rotation or if he's with the guards. Also depends on who else we might sign or lose, obviously. Good point on Roby. I see him more likely to get backup point gaurd minutes than Bakari. But i think the two gaurd spot minutes will be locked down by Webster, Watson, and Gill as I see them each getting 25+ minutes. I am excited for the competition for minutes next season. Assuming Gill is the real deal, Webster is going to be huge next year as the backup for both him and Watson and you know that you can get good production out of him off the bench after this year. Bakari has to be ready next year because you're an injury away from being in big trouble and it would be great if he was able to earn more PT. Interesting comments by Miles on his show last night about both new and returning guys. He said Bakari could redshirt, or could get minutes at point. He said the area he has struggled the most with is defense (But as Norm points out, he was 1-14 on 3s, and the misses looked flat-out ugly. If he struggles more on defense than that, I I have trouble thinking he will ever make it. But the comments from Miles suggested he will be back). Webster may see more minutes at the point. Miles said Gill is a much better athlete than anyone we have going north and south, and should help us a lot in transition, where we have struggled. Isn't as athletic as Tai is laterally, but can get to the rim going forward. Claimed Gill is a good shooter (despite that not being apparent at Louisville). Hasn't been as dominant as White was during his year on the scout team, but has been very good. Not sure if you can really draw much from this but for me that's atleast a bit concerning. Obviously White is a great shooter, but I was hoping the next two years we would be getting the same type of production out of Gill that we got from Shields. We are going to have to hope guys like Watson and Morrow live in the gym and take that next step starting next year or else I'm afraid we will continue to look lost on offense at times.
  16. Now, for those who are interested, this is how you troll. And for those who are interested. this is how someone refuses to confront reality. I can understand why some people may think that we just had one "hot streak" But was recruiting Roby, Morrow, Watson, Gil, White also just a "hot streak" of getting top 150 talent to NU? Again, I understand the results weren't great this year, but let's see how these guys pan out before we pass too much judgement on Miles. Now, for eastofomaha, was Dougie just a "hot streak" for Coach Mac? Years post Doug aren't exactly great for CU. Two bottom half finishes in the league. That may be "refusing to confront reality" as you so put it. Yep....McDermott's first four years were a "fluke" because of his son. McDermott in conference play is 31-69(Big 12/Big East) without his son. Of course...Krayton fans will come back with..."well who developed Doug?"......and then will totally ignore the development of guys like Shields/Petteway. Krayton basketball knowledge....no bueno.
  17. "It's very gratifying and humbling that Shawn has shown a great deal of faith in our program,'' Miles told the Omaha World-Herald. "This time, it's been with an extension for the head coach. "But he's also done it over and over with helping me hire high-quality assistants and making sure we've got enough resources to do our job the right way." While you hate the fanbase so much...you are off base(again)...the expectations aren't out of wack. The majority do not expect championships out of Nebrasketball....but a solid product isn't too much to ask for. A tourney run every once in awhile(Tim's been there) and eventually winning a game at the tournament would be nice. Obviously Miles had to blow up the roster after last years debacle...he brought in and is bringing in some nice talent. Will it be enough? I have my doubts. But he's either going to sink or swim with this core freshman class. If Miles needs something can he go directly to the AD or not? Simple question. Perhaps swmckewon can answer. No hate for the fan base just describing who they are. So in your view he's on the hot seat for next year...correct? I have no idea if he has to go thru someone.....if he does do you believe that conributes to making Nebrasketball a difficult job? I don't see it as long as he continues to be provided with the neccessary resources to win..and that's been the case. Hot seat next year as in his job is in jeapordy? No, I don't believe so. Although, I think we will know the answer of his future fate at Nebraska by our results next year.
  18. Completely under-appreciated. This wasn't 10 years ago and if it was easy, the last two guys might still be here. It also likely landed us Watson and probably Morrow....if it didn't buy Miles some extra time to right the ship it should.
  19. Anything would be great at this point for extra PT. Who knows...winning something like the CBI or Vegas 16 could get us going with some positive momentum into next year.
  20. Before you and 13 get into the same 20 subquote argument again this would be the type of (realistic or not) expectations you'd have almost anywhere, just sort of relative. Right now there is probably some Michigan forum where guys are questioning Beilein because they can't believe how little he built on their Finals runs and look what everyone else is doing there. Dam! You beat me to it.
