  1. Welcome Mose. You represent the Jay World with class and dignity. If more were like you, I might even have to root for them once in awhile.
  2. Nice class by Groce. It ain't gonna be easy to move up the food chain in this league.
  3. Agree with 49er. And not nearly as obnoxious as Tony. (Not HHC Tony, but Bluejay in the Avatar Tony)
  4. Perhaps Royal Fan will give us his thoughts on that line.....always interesting to observe from the sidelines.
  5. Unless they've undergone a name change, I haven't seen Curteous One, Hoops Panda (but I still read him every day), bball23, and ImmaSker. UNL is registered but needs to post; great Husker fan that lad. And I'm still troubled by the absence of Auroran Husker since 2010. Prolific poster who just disappeared without a trace.
  6. Had to vote that post up, Atskooc--not only for the video but for the awesome avator!
  7. Uh Oh, prepare for a Dean Smith full frontal....
  8. PROBABLY have helped us, Norm?
  9. No way, Norm. But speaking of Runzas, Miles came through with his promise to give the first 200 red zone members a free runza last night. My son was a beneficiary.
  10. Parker has enough quicks to play at this level. He needs to get in better shape; he was tired and took a lot of possessions off on defense. If basketball didn't require ballhandling and shooting, Rivers would be pretty good. Ray played very good on offense....and very poorly on defense. It was clear after a couple of minutes Peltz can't play at this level--unless his balky knee was the reason. He is slow and can't handle it well. He got broken down 3 straight possessions. Didn't see much time after that, so Miles saw it. But, on the radio show, he mentioned the bad knee. Hopefully that was a big part of it. All in all, I'm happy with the win--I will be happy with any win we can get, no matter the competition.
  11. Looked less than that to me, but the Red Zone wasn't bad. Whatever the number, they were very quiet.
  12. I echo the praise of the defense. It was absolutely stifling the first half; perhaps as good as I have seen it--which is surprising this early in the year. Everyone seems to get Yori's system. Another area we look good in is rebounding. A pleasant surprise. Shooting--well, we have a long way to go there. Hopefully just a slump. Sample was outstanding today in her minutes. Hopefully her health will hold. Finally, 00 has a whole bunch of game. One tough player.
  13. Hope Cady isn't in for a sophomore slump. She has so many gifts, and we need another offensive weapon. 2 bigtime airballs on wide open jumpers were hard to watch. But, Emily plays pretty free--if anyone can have some problems and not get down over it, it's her.
  14. That had to be paid attendance. I thought there were about 3000 there. I'm sure volleyball hurt attendance.
  15. Now THAT is some funny stuff. These fake guys have some game, no doubt.
  16. Norm, something tells me you haven't spent a lot of time on the couch during your marraige...so, I'd answer the question yes--there's plenty of chances in hell that you'd avoid sleeping on the couch. Either way, it would have been your obligation to attend the game.
  17. Thank goodness most Nebraskans disagree with you, Coug. Runza Rocks.
  18. Sergej = Project. Huge project. Redshirt would be nice if we had the luxury. I did like his effort. He played very hard (yes, sort of like complimenting the blind date for the nice personality).
  19. His t-shirt underneath the jersey sure didn't seem to be the appropriate size.....
  20. I'm more in line with Norm's description than those who are touting Biggs as a major baller. He'd help us this year, but I don't see him as "the deal". If his outside shot improved it would help him a ton, but that typically doesn't happen to 4th year college guys. If they can't shoot it by the time they're this age, it isn't to be.
  21. I booed at that time--loudly. We were all just having fun. Although I do love free Runzas, and as Norm says, we won't get many this year. In fact, I believe we will stay in the 30s a number of times. But, with the glass half full, we get $1.00 off of a combo meal of the tastiest fast food around no matter what happens.
  22. I agree. Not a surprise at all. But in terms of describing the situation, I have closely followed NU basketball for 45 years. I've seen some really bad teams in that time. I have no doubt this is the worst assemblance of talent, compared to the competion, we have ever fielded. I'll have no trouble going to the games and supporting the team, and I'll be patient--but to go back to the overused cliche--"it is what it is"--this is an alltime low on what we can put out on the court, and it's not close. May God have mercy....
