  1. Couple of offense of juggernaut's here
  2. Oh great here come the stupid airball chants
  3. As Petteway considers his future next year, one wonders how much of a contributing factor the new players will be to his decision. If it indeed turns out,as we hope, that we've improved our talent, would he be better served to leave after this year, than potentially drop off in scoring?
  4. Can I wear white pants? I've been looking for an excuse to pull my Don Johnsons out of the the closet.
  5. Call me crazy but I think we can, nay, will beat Wisconsin at the Pinnacle.
  6. Nebraska 65 Northwestern 64
  7. As far as I can see we usually only ever have one guy try to rebound while the other four are already heading up the floor when the shot is up. Never understood that.
  8. The talent is there, as evidenced by last season, for us to make it to the NCAA tourney. I do think we're that good. I suppose we can't totally compare last year to this year and assume the same results or better, because of factors like different opponents (home and away) different schedule, different coaches and different players. I think we're in a mental rut, and it can happen to a lot better teams than us. It happened to Wisconsin last year, on a much smaller scale. We keep looking to Miles to come up with an offensive strategy to fix our offensive woes, and yeah it's his responsibility to figure it out, but I agree with Norm in that in reality there is only so much a coach can do. Too many passed up shots indicates lack of confidence.
  9. Screw it. Let's win the Big Ten Tourney.
  10. It's the Aaron Craft approach to reffing.
  11. I'm not seeing how Miles is mixing things up like he said in his presser. It may be there, but I'm not seeing it.
  12. Um why is Rivers bringing the ball up?
  13. Shields goes baseline gets trapped but no one flashes in the lane
  14. Good point about Hammond. Took Kamisky a couple of years to get going.
  15. Not sure, but it might go something like this: Pssh, with a Big Mac on the line? McCray would beat these punks hands down!
  16. I wouldn't be surprised if there were some attrition after this year, usually is. But honestly I'm still hoping Fuller can contribute if only because I feel we need help from the outside. We'll certainly have a lot of 6-6 to 6-8 Guard/Forwards next year.
  17. Hoped it had stared with the Michigan State game.
  18. I just don't think there's an easy answer NUdiehard. In the final analysis I think your advocating just a different style of offense that will still produce the same results. I get what Miles is trying to do. The fact is we are not a good shooting team, from 15 feet out, at least for sure not a good three point shooting team. So it looks to me that because we are not a threat from 3, the strategy is to try to take higher percentage shots, and if they don't go in, hopefully we'll get to the line. Couple that with essentially playing Doc ball, minimizing the possessions and playing solid D. Has it worked? Mixed results to be sure. However, if I were a fly on the wall in Miles' pregame meetings, I'm sure the coaches have decided that if we start taking the first open shot we get every time down the floor, we're not going to make many of those shots, and in turn that increases the possessions for the opposing team, and games could tend to get away from us very quickly. FWIW, Miles has said he wants Walt to shoot it more. And I know when Molinari said we like low scoring close defensive games, Miles said "Wait a minute, who says that? I like to score!" We need better shooters. I'd still be happy to see Fuller get more minutes.
  19. This was the kind of game where if the coach decided to bench the top 8 players and let the scrubs play the rest of the night I would have fully supported it. They played with no fire. The ESPN color guy said it spot on when he said we weren't playing hard enough, as if making shots dictated how hard we played.
