Cal St. Fullerton (2-3) vs. Nebraska (6-0) Game Thread
cornfed24-7 replied to Bugeaters1's topic in The Haymarket Hardwood
Nope. Over the last 2 games I've noticed there have been more than a couple times Tominaga was open and they didn't pass him the ball and reversed it the other way. Williams had an egregious one today. But I've seen a few others do it too. Hopefully just a coincidence and nothing more. -

I'm going with cut the head off the snake strategy. Try and shut down Grant. Make the rest beat you. -
It's Sam now. But I hope they keep putting Eli out there. What if he developed like JL did last year? What if he is quite a bit above average for a 6-8 freshman? It would be really nice come February if that's the case. But gotta keep playing him to find out.

USC & UCLA TO JOIN BIG TEN (beginning 2024)!

I'm in San Diego and I can tell you SDSU is thanking whatever God they pray too with how this is playing out. They really screwed the pooch with their attempt to leave and then their mea culpa and saying "We didn't want to LEAVE leave! We just want to practice leave in case someday we did want to LEAVE leave." -

Awesome! I couldn't remember if that was still a requirement or not. My preference is ten teams and it goes back to being called the PAC10. Perfection -

I agree with all of this. And the details you outlined could be the poison pill that screws it all up. I think it all depends on how united the MWC is with the teams you showed that just aren't as competitive as the rest. At a minimum these 2 entities need each other in some fashion. And to have a possibility like this just fall into there lap is astounding. For the caliber that these schools are in sports, thier similar academic missions, and geography...it's damn near perfect. And for OSU and WSU this is a conference they could compete for titles consistently. *Added-Also I think they'll want to be at at least 12 teams so the can have a Championship game. I think that's still a requirement. -

I have to believe this turns into all sports playing against the MWC. MWC has to be playing at a name change to PAC 12/14. I think OSU and WSU win the court battles for control of the conference. The other teams will get a reduced payout and go on their way semi quietly. Thanking thier lucky stars they didn't lose at college realignment musical chairs. OSU and WSU with the rest of the MWC into a new PAC14 makes too much sense for it not to happen. It's an damn near perfect fit. Geographically *chefs kiss* I love it. Hopefully they don't screw it up by getting stuck on the details of how the new conference structure and power sharing goes. -

I got my Nursing degree from SDSU at the satellite campus there for their accelerated program. Spent two years there. Lived right by Augustana. I thought I knew what a cold winter was before I lived there. That and the what passes for Mexican food are my only complaints -
If we attempt 60 FG per game ...
cornfed24-7 replied to Norm Peterson's topic in The Haymarket Hardwood
This is a tough one. We seem to struggle in the paint/finishing. And I don't expect us to get better at it as the competition gets better. We just don't have a banger like Walker to make anyone respect us down low. And we don't seem to have even a poor mans James Palmer either. It seems to me if we are gonna have success going to the rim it's gonna have to be back cuts or getting the D out of position with good ball movement. With all that said I think this is a live by the 3 die by the 3 team. I'm going with 55% 2's and 45% 3's. We better be a good shooting team or we might be in trouble. -

It was ugly in the 1st half. Not so much in the 2nd half. Hopefully from here on our we can start getting into a rhythm. 1st 2 games not the full roster. 3rd add Tominaga. 4th ad Gary. I agree with hskr4life's top 8 with maybe a Hoiberg/Coleman for the 8th spot. Gotta find a way to not come out ice cold to start. -

I feel it's a little more nuisanced. He was a good coach in the the right situation. That situation was not Nebraska. And boy did he ever leave us in such a crap position with how he left. However, I'd have probably jumped ship too at the 1st chance with that administration. From the outside looking in it was probably about as low of support the basketball program had from the University. I did enjoy the $99 season tickets during that time though
