Pretty telling how poorly the coaches thought the bigs played when they started Tanner Borchardt in the second half. Jordy Tshimanga looked as bad as he ever has. He's 6'11". Would sure be great if he played like it. We really need Jordy to pick it up. Thomas Allen may be the best freshman Tim Miles has had at Nebraska. He's a big time player. Given his shooting ability, would love to see him play with Watson more. Hell, I said it months ago: Thomas Allen should start at the 2. The kid can SCORE. (And I want to keep him happy so he sticks around. Evan Taylor is a senior. He can't transfer after this year. Allen can.) Isaac Copeland moves like an old man. He looks like he's in a pain as he waddles off the court. He may never be the same player he was after the back injury/surgery. For as many minutes as Jack McVeigh played, I expected more on the stat sheet. He had 6 rebounds, but probably should have had double that. He scored 3 points in 23 minutes. We will not win many games if McVeigh only scores 3 points. Last year, we were 6-2 when McVeigh scored 10 points or more (losses at Iowa, at Rutgers); we were 6-17 when McVeigh scored less than 10 points. Jack couldn't get a shot off last night. What's he going to do with a Big Ten defender on him? You may not agree with all of this, but I'm we can agree on this: James Palmer, Jr. is a stud.

I predicted in another forum a couple weeks ago that Illinois would finish last in both football and basketball. I still stand by that!

The midseason transfer MAY be eligible for the Nebraska game (depending on Kansas' academic calendar). Remember: Copeland would have been eligible December 16th (Kansas game) had he not received the waiver.

They'll make plenty of money. And I'd rather not go 0-2. Husker fans will travel to this and they'll want to watch us win at least one game.

I'm definitely going to this! I'll just take the whole week of Thanksgiving off. Well, if I can last that long into the year without using all of my vacation days...

I don't see how Duby Okeke could NOT be included in the rotation. Any rotation (8-man, 10-man, whatever) HAS to include Okeke. We didn't sign him to NOT play him.

I sure hope so! Last season, always caught myself saying, "Our defender needs to be a half-step closer to the three-point line..." right as their man received a pass and swished a not-so-contested three. I'm hoping this rosters length and athleticism will help with how we defend the three-point line.

Are you just saying that because you want me to read your thread?! Kidding. But I think 8 or 9 wins is most likely. I think we win all home games against non-power conference schools (6 wins) and Boston College (7). We'll win at least one in Orlando (8) -- if we win 2, fantastic. The game at St. John's is the swing game.

I'm just trying to keep my high level of excitement from turning into high expectations. But doing that is becoming harder and harder with each passing day!

I'm with you. Last year saw the worst home loss (Michigan) and (if I remember correctly) the most losses (19) in a single season in program history. Statistically, we were ranked in the 300s for three-point shooting (both offense and defense). I may not be overly optimistic for this season, but I'm definitely excited because how could we possibly be worse?!
