  1. Thank you all for the info/advice!
  2. I'm hoping to move from 300 Level to 200 Level (my slot is Thursday morning), though I'm not sure it's worth paying over $100 more per seat (NOT including $50 donation, for some sections). Does anyone sit in the 200 Level? Is it worth paying $100+ (compared to 300 Level)? Am I also safe to assume that donating $50 to sit in the 200 Level will most likely move me up in the Seat Yourself process next year?
  3. I've compiled some information on the players listed in @hhcdimes's post above, using Verbal Commits and 247 Sports as resources. For each player, this document includes: - Star ranking - Height & weight - Hometown - Visit dates (if any) - Narrowed list of considered schools (if any) - Links to Verbal Commits & 247 Sports profiles Notes: - Grayson Carter not included (per 247 Sports, we have not offered a scholarship) - Kevin Easley is included (recently decommited from VCU, unofficially visited NU last year) - David Wingett included as "Other Player of Interest" 2018 Recruiting.docx
  4. Then apparently no other conversations were worth having, so I still agree with you -- neither Nike nor Under Armour value Nebraska as highly as Adidas does.
  5. We're talking about multi-million dollar apparel deals. What good does a "feeler" do? I would assume it does little to nothing. "Conversations" are what matter when dealing with this stuff.
  6. From Sam McKewon's OWH article: "Athletic Director Shawn Eichorst said NU never talked to any other company." http://www.omaha.com/huskers/football/mckewon-with-adidas-deal-and-coming-big-ten-windfall-a/article_7248d226-c6c0-5005-9bf6-28672c461172.html But I agree with you -- doubt Nike or Under Armour would value Nebraska as highly as Adidas did/does.
  7. You can't coach 6' 10 1/2". He's from Nebraska. There is very little to lose from trying to develop him. He won't be worse than Jake Hammond. I'm very happy Heiman accepted our offer.
  8. He would be eligible as soon as the first semester ends. So he would be eligible for the Kansas game on December 16th.
  9. You'd think Barfknecht (OWH), Basnett (LSJ), and/or Washut (Husker Online) would at least be updating us on the status of Copeland's appeal on a weekly basis. I don't need a daily, "Nothing to report."; but at least give us a weekly update of who you've talked to, what you've learned, who/what NU is waiting on, etc. At this point, I don't care what the outcome of the appeal is, I just want to know! I hate waiting.
  10. 1. Nate Mason , MINN 2. Bryant McIntosh, NW 3. Glynn Watson, Jr., NEB 4. Jordan Bohannon, IOWA 5a. Jaaron Simmons, MICH 5b. Corey Sanders, RUT Wanted to include Sanders because he's pretty fun to watch.
  11. Taylor is a better ball handler than Gill. So I'd say Allen and Taylor are the most likely candidates for second best ball handler.
  12. It's more likely that they are all starters, than they are all backups.
  13. I really thought all of this would have been taken care of in April...
  14. Why we continued to play a half-court game (especially with a smaller roster) the past few seasons is beyond me. Would have loved to see us get out and run more. With a lack of consistent shooters, it seems this style would have suited us better. It appeared to be Miles' pure stubbornness that prevented a change in style. My coworker's limo-driving friend picked up Ed Morrow from the airport while he was going on recruiting trips after his transfer announcement. After striking up a conversation, Ed said that the team wanted to play a full-court game, but Miles was adamantly against it. That's why he transferred.
  15. All I'm saying is that what Miles has been doing -- philosophy, coaching, rotation, etc. -- hasn't been working very well lately. Maybe it's time to take a different approach and change things up. I'm as excited about the new talent as anybody, but I have very little faith in Miles to get the team/program where we would like it to be. I would just like to see a different approach.
  16. Roby was coming off an injury. If he was healthy, would he have started over McVeigh? Glynn SHOULD have been starting over Benny Parker. (I love Benny, but Glynn is a better D-I basketball player than Benny -- you will never convince me otherwise.) Ed was also coming off an injury and has since left the program. (Hmm... I wonder why?) Maybe Miles SHOULD start the 4-star freshmen. We want future 4+-stars to want to come to Nebraska. But they won't come here to ride the bench for 2 years.
  17. Yeah, I got the point from the other three people who said this before you. Nice rhyme, though. I've never heard/seen someone use that one. Very clever.
  18. Well, I apparently misremembered some rankings, but that was not the focus of my post. I know Miles puts an emphasis on defense, but that hasn't faired us very well. Other than the one month to finish 2013-14, we've been pretty tough to watch (and the record reflects this). I think it's time to change things up. Inject some energy into this program. Thomas Allen is the kind of player who can do that. He's not a typical freshman, either. He just finished playing a season for the best prep school in the country. My point is, we've maybe never had a player like this. And I want him to stick around.
  19. The more I think about it, can we really NOT start Allen? He's the first 4-star freshman in program history. What message does it send to future recruits if he doesn't start? Why go to Nebraska and come off the bench when you can go to almost any other Big Ten school and start? I just don't think we recruited him to not start. So I'll be even more annoyed when Miles doesn't start him...
  20. Gill was a Div-1 transfer who redshirted a year but did not start Game 1. I wouldn't put it past Miles to start Taylor and/or McVeigh the first game of the season. Doesn't mean they'll play more minutes than some players coming off the bench, though.
  21. If you think there is any chance Jordy doesn't start, you're nuts.
  22. Shatel didn't necessarily put a time frame on it. He simply said that we could bank on NU paying a football coach $6M and a basketball coach $3M someday.
  23. I've wondered if this played even a small part in not firing Miles after last season. If he were fired, we would have had to hire a coach similar to his caliber/pay grade. Tom Shatel wrote (and I agree with him) that one day Nebraska will pay its football coach $6M and its basketball coach $3M in annual salaries. If Nebraska basketball wants to go to the next level, we need to dish out some cash for a coach who's capable of doing that.
  24. It's a separate card that will have the season's home games pre-loaded onto it. (One card per seat.) So you don't have to bring a paper ticket with you to the game - just the card. They will scan/swipe the card instead of a ticket. You'll just have one card to keep track of instead of 18 separate paper tickets.
  25. Okay. Seriously. F**K Texas.
